The Academic Magnet High School stands in solidarity with the family of George Floyd and the African-American community nationwide. We as representatives of the school do not condone racist behavior in any form and support Americans right to protest. As young people we understand our obligation to set the tone for a future generation, in which discrimination and hatred, racial or otherwise, are not tolerated. The burden rests on us. We cannot wait for our parents and leaders to change the standard of ignorance and denial, and we recognize our duty to prevent harmful words and actions each day. We stand with all who have or presently suffer from overt or systemic racism, especially present students and alumni of AMHS, as well as those from  Bonds-Wilson High School on whose campus we reside.
