Under the leadership of the fearless Coach Langley, the Magnet Girls Tennis Team has soared to a 6-1 record. The season opened with a 6-0 win over Palmetto Christian Academy.  The team has also had wins over Whale Branch, Garrett, Charleston Math & Science, and Pinewood Prep.

This weekend, they competed in the Bishop England Invitational, a tournament of high school teams from across the state. The team started the tournament with a loss against 4A defending state champs, Dutch Fork, but rallied to defeat Pinewood Prep in the next round. The third match resulted in a close 3-4 loss to Riverside High School, and the team rounded out the weekend with a nailbiter 4-3 win over Aiken, decided by a doubles match.

The Lady Raptors are led by seniors Mary Geer Kirkland, Katie Hulsey, Margaret Rose Jones, Lauren Dickman, and Elle Johnson, who are numbers 1-5 on the team lineup. The number 2 doubles spot is held by dynamic duo Mary Claire Newsom and Thandi Nixon.

The Raptors still have many matches to go and are hoping to continue their successful season!
