Game of Zones Returns

Bleacher Report’s NBA cartoon series, Game of Zones, has returned for its fourth season. The show features several short episodes, all parodies of HBO’s Game of Thrones and the NBA. The spoof of this HBO hit TV show first aired in May of 2014, with King James and the Spurs White Walkers created by Adam and Craig Malamut; the Youtube web series has gained increasing popularity over the years and the premier of the new season has helped to continue its rise. Before this season, Bleacher Report had published 8 episodes and 4 mini bonus episodes, featuring spoof versions of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, Draymond Green and many more current and past NBA stars.

The new episode, KD’s Summer Odyssey, features the tale of Kevin Durant exploring his free agency options in the summer, before famously signing with the Golden State Warriors. Sticking with its ever-popular Game of Thrones style, the official description for the episode is as follows: “It’s early summer as Kevin of Durant bids farewell to his friends in Okla’Homa and heads off to test the market. House Cavaliers receives ominous news whilst celebrating their championship.” The episode comically follows Kevin Durant on his free agency voyage, making jokes about the Washington Wizards’ chemistry issues, the soul-less San Antonio Spurs, and Steve Kerr’s medical marijuana usage after his back surgery. Bleacher Report missed no opportunities for jokes, referencing Russell Westbrook’s viral video dancing to the song “Do What I Want”, as Game of Zones Russell Westbrook watched Kevin of Durant depart to test free agency before biting a cup cake, once more taking a shot at KD.

All episodes of Game of Zones can be found here, on Bleacher Report’s official website. Episodes can also be found on Youtube. This show has become perfect for NBA fans, a major comedic hit across the fan base. For those who are also fans of Game of Thrones, this blend is a match made in fictional TV/NBA heaven. Bleacher Report has used this as a stepping stone for many other spoof cartoons, including Gridiron Heights, an NFL comedy cartoon parodying the NFL season, one week at a time. Other NBA cartoons have been made, including Superteam: A Warriors Musical, and Small Ball, a short show featuring the NBA’s youngest stars. Feel free to check any or all of these shows for a good laugh, or a refresher on the past events of the sporting world.
