It’s the beginning of December which means Christmas is right around the corner. Whether you’re already in the Christmas spirit or slowly getting there, you should check out these great holiday movies!

1.Elf

My personal favorite movie, Elf, features Will Ferrel as the hilarious and friendly Buddy the Elf. After leaving the North Pole to find his biological father, Buddy is faced with the challenge of adjusting to life in New York City. This comedic Christmas movie is the perfect movie for kids and teens alike.

2. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

First released in 1964, this classic Christmas movie is a must-watch. This movie was produced in stop motion animation and has aired on CBS every year since 1964. Another one of my personal favorites, Rudolph has become a staple of the American Christmas culture. Mary Peyton Brown says Rudolph is her favorite movie because, “it reminds me of my childhood because I used to watch it a lot as a child. It’s like the best Christmas movie ever.”

3. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

Another one of my personal favorites, Home Alone 2 is a comedy about a boy named Kevin who ends up in New York City, alone, on Christmas. The movie captures all of Kevin’s crazy adventures, including his confrontations with Harry and Marv from the first Home Alone, while lost in New York.

4. Frosty the Snowman

Frosty the Snowman, the TV special, is another Christmas classic. Featuring an animated snowman, Santa Claus, and a group of enthusiastic children, this cute television special is another must watch during the holiday season.

5. The Polar Express

Based on a children’s book, The Polar Express is another wildly popular movie that captures the spirit of Christmas. Featuring a little boy who doubts the existence of Santa, the movie will take you on an adventure to the North Pole. Senior Maegan Reed says she loves this movie because it “reminds me of elementary school where we would wear our pajamas, drink hot chocolate, and watch The Polar Express, celebrating the spirit and joy of Christmas.”

6. AAOOD3

The Adventurous Adventures of One Direction 3 is a Youtube comedy series featuring the cartoon versions of the members of the boyband One Direction. Even for people who do not consider themselves fans, AAOOD3 is still worth a watch. Each episode will leave you hysterically laughing and wanting more.
