AMHS Football Comes Up Just Short

Nate LeRoy and Ben Auten

Last Friday night, Academic Magnet High School took on Whale Branch at home in our second region game of the season. Playing without Andrew Alberg and Josh Isaacks, Reaves Wannamaker started on the defensive line and Alex Pastis moved to middle linebacker. Alex helped to lead the way on defense, stuffing Whale Branch’s run game with 14 tackles. After Whale Branch got out to an early 13-0 lead, our Raptors battled back to cut the lead to 8 with a few minutes left, but were unable to pull off the upset. Nate Schlosser posted another great game, rushing for 124 yards and two touchdowns, adding an 80 yard passing touchdown to Zach Zuber to his stat line as well.

This week we play Battery Creek away from home as we look to bounce back from our first defeat of the season. Andrew Alberg will be returning to the line up, surely looking to have a strong return from his injury.
