1. Julian Sayin – Julian Sayin was one of the best quarterbacks last year as he led the Buckeyes to the college football playoffs with one of the best redshirt freshmen seasons in program history. As a redshirt freshman, Julian led his team to the College Football Playoff quarterfinal. During the season he had a 77% completion rate with 32 TD’s. Although he had these great stats, he struggled against actually good teams as he faced opponents lacking in causing the QB pressure, meaning that when faced against both Indiana and Miami, he was put into a new environment. He is put #1 on my list as he has arguably the most room the grow as he knows his weaknesses and is at one of the strongest programs in the country.
2. Dante Moore – This prospect was one of the best quarterbacks last season and was a very high projected pick, which is why it was such a shocker when he decided to return. With Dylan Raiola behind him, Moore has pressure this upcoming season, and as a member of a division that has only a couple of good teams, there is little to no issue in making the playoffs, his issue however, is against strong opponents. Due to being the starter for only 1 year, I believe he will still do good but not as good as last season, making him fall behind Sayin.
3. Gunner Stockton – Gunner Stockton was a great quarterback, even though he is looked down upon for his lack of accomplishments in the College Football Playoffs, but I believe that he will shine this upcoming season, even though the Bulldogs have a tough schedule, Stockton has done well the past couple of seasons and I think he is better than the rest of this list.
4. Arch Manning – Arch Manning is a hit or miss. Arch is surrounded by a great coaching staff and a great team but the stress from the family lineage and the pressure put upon him by everyone may lead to some crucial mistakes. Arch is a very over-hyped player as he was even called a Heisman candidate before he ever played.
5. Trinidad Chambliss – Trinidad Chambliss, the basically 30 year old quarterback following Pavia’s footsteps in somehow manipulating their way into gaining another year. Chambliss SHOULDN’T be able to play next year as he used a MISSISSIPPI judge to give himself the ability for more eligibility. Chambliss did stand out last year as he had over 3900 pass yards with over 520 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns. Chambliss who will be upwards of 7 years older than other players next year will have the experience and knowledge needed to excel, but with the leaving of Lane Kiffin, who knows how Ole Miss will do.
6. C.J Carr – This quarterback has had a very good career thus far but there are some factors to this. The first factor is the state of his school. Notre “Money Chasing” Dame is an independent school for football, this meaning that they have an easy schedule with maybe a good team they have to play. Carr was very accurate passing wise but against basically high school level opponents, this leads his ability up to question.
7. Sam Leavitt – Sam Leavitt was the best player and highest rated player in the transfer portal this year. Leavitt was the Quarterback that led the Arizona State Sun Devils to their first ever college football playoff appearance. Leavitt has one of the strongest arms in the country, and the NIL money he received from LSU proves this as he received 5-6 million dollars just for this one season.
8. Jayden Maiava – Maiava is one of the best quarterbacks on all rating lists, but there are a few things holding him back as his weak conference with a not great record in this conference shows that even a good quarterback can suffer in a bad team. Also, some of his best options left in the transfer portal leading to him being put down lower on my list.
9. LaNorris Sellers – LaGoat, LaHeisman, whatever you want to call him, this freak of nature is off the radar for best quarterbacks. LaNorris had a not so great year last season as his absolutely terrible offensive line and terrible play calls hindered his ability. By keeping him from running, the old offensive coordinator, Mike Shula, took away one of his biggest threats, his legs. I believe LaNorris will shine under this new OC and will become one of, if not the best quarterbacks in the league, no matter what the record may be, LaNorris is a force to be reckoned with.
