Welcome to Raptor Football Season: AMHS Cheer Team and Football Cheers

AMHS Cheer Team

To any freshmen or first-time game attendees reading this article and planning to attend at least one football game, please take careful note. AMHS cheerleaders will be working in conjunction with spirit leaders to bring you some high-energy cheers. To make the learning curve a little less painful, here are some common football cheers.

Pump it up:

Freshmen, are you ready, to pump it up, to pump it up, to pump it, pump it, pump it up

Sophomores, are you ready, to pump it up, to pump it up, to pump it, pump it, pump it up

Juniors, are you ready, to pump it up, to pump it up, to pump it, pump it, pump it up

Seniors, are you ready, to pump it up, to pump it up, to pump it, pump it, pump it up

Dirty birds, are you ready, to pump it up, to pump it up, to pump it, pump it, pump it up

(Repeat lines for Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors)

Raptors, are you ready, to pump it up to pump it up to pump it pump it pump it up

I promise when you’re in the bleachers this cheer will be way less wordy than it seems. Please be aware of the order “freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, dirty birds, freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, raptors.” When your grade is called during the cheer, make some noise! The goal is to outcheer other grades and prove that your class has the most spirit. On “Raptors,” everyone will cheer.

Grunt Sizzle:

Raptors in the front, let me hear you grunt, *grunt sound*

Raptors in the middle, let me hear you sizzle, *sizzle*

Raptors in the rear, let me hear you cheer, *woo*

Do that stuff, do that stuff, do that stuff, do that stuff

A very popular cheer, this is one of the most interactive. Get ready to grunt, sizzle, and cheer in the stands! Do not feel limited to the “cheer” part just because you’re in the rear, go for all of them!

Four More:

Four more, more, more

One, we are the raptors, two, a little bit louder, three, I still can’t hear you

(Repeat)

Now, to the actual cheer team members who will be fearlessly leading us. Flyer Bellamy Kline (11) is entering her second year of Raptor cheer and is so excited to see you in the stands this season!

I also interviewed first year cheerleader Nora Richards (9) to get the scoop on the cheer team.
