French musician Eric Vincent visited the SOA Rose Marie Meyer’s Theatre last week to provide French students from Academic Magnet and SOA, as well as guests from Mason Prep, with an authentic French concert. Vincent has played all over the world in over 140 countries and is known worldwide for his ability to overcome the language barrier and put on a fantastic show. Students were excused from their 2A classes to take part in the cultural experience. He performed songs off of his newest album, L’or de l’instant, as well as songs from his previous albums. Interactions with the crowd occurred between almost every song, and some French history and stories were thrown in, too. Though there were some technical difficulties, students still enjoyed the performance and some even waited around to get their posters and CDs signed. Overall, it was great exposure for students to learn more about the language and culture of France.
