USA- the US has many emerging stars for one of the first World Cups back in America! The Lionel James of soccer, Christian Pulisic, will be sure to lead the team to a very far run, and they could go all the way. This would be monumental for both our country and the future hopes of soccer in America. A win could go a long way in securing more young fans of soccer and, even better, securing a more prosperous future for the red, white, and blue. Chris Richards also holds down the team. He is known for his passion and extreme drive and determination on the defensive front. Chris Richards is also known to be a passionate leader of the field, often drawing comparisons to AMHS varsity team captain Blake Yarborough. The team also features long-term leader Tyler Adams. Currently, Tyler plays for Bournemouth over in England. But he is truly an American eagle in his heart. He has been a long-time centerpiece of the team. Many players describe him as a huge locker room presence and a witty and determined leader on and off the field. Balogun is another key player for the American boys’ soccer team, even though at some point there might have been a slight question of his allegiances. Despite this, he makes himself known as a striker on the attacking end of the pitch. Over in Europe, he is a star for Monaco, clocking goals and assisting around the clock. He is sure to be a key and instrumental part of the team that is possibly the first American team to bring it home to the States. My personal take on the American World Cup team is that they really need to capitalize on the momentum they will gain from being on the game turf(even if some games are in Canada and Mexico). This should be very important as well, all know the role that being at home plays in a sporting event. I also predict that the crowds will be out in full force for this World Cup. Although the MLS is developing, there are very rare times when people in America are experiencing high-quality soccer. But in 2026, the best stars from across Europe, Africa, and South America will be journeying to the States (and Canada and Mexico) to showcase their talent on the world stage. I think this will be a very exciting opportunity for everyone and will get many kids into soccer. I also think this will be great for the economies of the cities that are hosting the World Cup, as many stores will be exposed to a great excess of customers and exposure. This is great for all the cities and could hopefully unite the country in a time of immense political divide. One of the criticisms I have is how accessible the corporations have made tickets. I think that because this is a cultural event, it should not be focused on raising prices but instead letting as many people as possible be able to gain inspiration from the greatest show on Earth.
