Summer is coming up…What are you going to do in between hours of slaving away at endless summer assignments?

As the wise teenage American heroes Phineas and Ferb once chronicled, “There’s a hundred and four days of summer vacation,/’Til school comes along just to end it,/So the annual problem for our generation,/Is finding a good way to spend it”. If you don’t have many summer plans and are looking for a way to have fun and still best utilize your time, you have come to the right place. • Build a robot

If you’re good with engineering and know your way around a computer, then building a robot is a great way to spend a summer day, as Phineas and Ferb often do. For those who aren’t great with technology but still interested in trying their hand at robotics, starter kits are available on Amazon and RobotShop. It is recommended to listen to the song “Phinedroids and Ferbots” before pursuing this endeavor.

• Host a circus

Although it may seem a little exotic, making a DIY circus is actually a great way to spend a dull summer day. To start, you’ll need a lion, a trapeze, a cannon, acrobats, and a clown, as well as a large striped tent. It is a good idea to invite friends as well as sell tickets. Warning: this is a VERY large undertaking, but the rewards are much worth the risks.

• S’Winter

In the infamous P&F episode “S’Winter”, the boys turned a boring, old summer day into a winter wonderland. Although you probably can’t turn the seasons, you CAN make your own chilly paradise by renting a snow machine. The snow will melt instantly in the hot summer sun, but it will still be fun while it lasts. Listen to the Phineas and Ferb S’Winter song to get the full experience.

• Join a Band

In Episode 22, Phineas and Ferb reunite the band Lovehandel after years of their celebration. If you like music and are interested in exploring your creative side, but have never been brave enough, now is the time to join a band! Even if you don’t already play an instrument, you can start by taking lessons and going to concerts, and are sure to make great friends and have fun. Listen to the song “Ain’t Got Rhythm” for inspiration.

• Build a Tree House

If you are interested in carpentry, then building a tree house is a great way to get started! Get some lumber, hammers, and nails, and soon you will have your own paradise in the forest canopy.
