Hello, fellow magnet students. There is a pressing matter that needs to be addressed. I have heard many whispers in the hallways and a lurking smell that seems to be never ending. You may have noticed these past two weeks that there have been some funky smells around the magnet halls. You might have asked yourself, “Oh my gosh, what is making that smell?” “Where is it coming from?” “How much longer will it be here?” Well, today, I have the answers for you. I am going to tell you exactly what the smells are and which classrooms they are coming from, and hopefully put you all at ease, and you’ll be wary of where you are walking from now on.
First off, there is the downstairs science hallway. There has been a weird sour smell coming from one of the classrooms. That would be Ms. Langley’s room. Her class is the first room on the right, next to the big mural for Mr. McCormick. One of the classes she teaches is anatomy, and as you could imagine, the anatomy class does dissections. Over the past few days, they have been dissecting CATS. While it is very smelly, it is also pretty sad. All in the name of science. There are dozens of cats in the room, and the smell has been building up. If I were you, I would steer clear of her room. Maybe walk a different path for a few days.
Then, there is the upstairs hallway. There have been some complaints of a fishy smell coming from Ms. Roop’s room. One of the classes she teaches is Marine Biology. Recently, they have been doing some dissections as well. They are doing sharks AND fish. While they are not as cute as the cat, they certainly smell more. With double the animals comes double the stank. Not to mention that the sharks eat fish, and some of them haven’t been digested all the way. TRIPLE the smell. Ms. Langley allegedly said in a conversation that Ms. Roop’s room smells worse than hers.
Some Magnet students seem indifferent about which smells worse. Some people say that the smell of the cats emanates more throughout the building. The classes next to and above hers have been complaining that they can smell it from their rooms. This could be because she keeps the door open when they are dissecting. Some people think that the shark and fish smell is worse than the cats’. Ms. Roop has to keep mint lostion in her room for the students to use when they are dissecting. She has them rub it on their upper lip or on their wrist.
All this to say, students moan and groan when they pass by their classrooms. Smelling the perservatives and the fishy smell. It is safe to say that you should all stay away from the science hallway, unless you HAVE to go over there. Avoid catching the whiff and woffting further down the halls. Hopefully, the smell will disappear soon. I do not know how much more the students can take.
