This thriller of a playoff game was quite contrary to the Patriots game as instead of a low scoring blizzard, there was a high scoring nail biter of a game. Both Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold both went absolutely off this game where they threw for insane yardage. Matthew Stafford, the 37 year old quarterback for the Rams and veteran for many years, despite his age, went off and threw for over 370 yards with 3 touchdowns. His pass completion rate was 22 of 35 passes completed which is really good in these conditions and the playoff environment in general. Black Corum, the underrated running back for the Rams did not perform as well as we hoped as he only ran for 55 yards this game. This might be low yardage, but with only 9 rush attempts this actually happens to be a great game for him. Puka Nacua, the star of the Los Angeles Rams, went off this game too as he had 9 receptions for over 160 yards with 1 touchdown under his belt. Puka was a force to be reckoned with as he was a force that came out on top when in need, making him one of the most dangerous players in the league. On the Seahawks side of things, Sam Darnold played one of the best games of his career, fitting for his best season of his career. Sam Darnold threw for over 345 yards also with 3 touchdowns, and a completion rate of 25 of 36 passes. Kenneth Walker III, one of the best running backs this year, ran for over 62 yards with a touchdown with 19 carries. Cooper Kupp, former super bowl MVP, had 4 receptions and a touchdown, showing that he still can ball out even though he is past his prime. A name we don’t see very often happened to show up in this game too, Jake Bobo, a receiver who only had 4 receptions this year, caught a beautiful pass from Sam Darnold for a touchdown, probably making this the play of Jake’s career. This was the only catch that Jake Bobo had this game, a 17 yard long touchdown which ended up being a crucial play. The sequence of plays that every person remembers from this game was whenever the Seahawks stopped the Rams on 3rd down forcing them to a 4th and 12. After they stopped them, a defensive player, number 27, for the Seahawks then ran up to Sean McVay, the Coach for the Rams, on the Rams sideline, where he then started talking smack, leading to a 15 yard penalty and automatic first down, which very much changed the state of the game. What made this sequence of events so much worse was that the very next play, Stafford threw an absolute dime to Puka Nacua for a touchdown. The salt on the wound was that the player that Nacua scored on was in fact number 27 who gave them this chance. The star player for the Seahawks, JSN, Jackson Smith Njigba, had over 150 receiving yards with 10 receptions and a touchdown, making him arguably the best wide receiver in the league.
