Now that all our gifts have been given and received, let’s look over some of the best gifts of Magnet.
First, we have Maya Pehl, a Sophomore here at Magnet. Her favorite gift was a Hogwarts Legacy game for her Switch fromher parents. It is her favorite because she got to play it at her friend’s house; however, she wasn’t able to finish it. So she was happy when she got the game for herself, so she could finish the game. A gift that someone else got that Maya liked was a pair of earrings. She liked the patterns, and it had an ear clasp with a chain. She had wanted them for a while and said she will probably buy them for herself because they are cheap. The gift she was most proud of was a quilled Makomo’s mask for her friend. In case you don’t know what quilling is its 3D art made from rolled paper. It took her over eight hours to make because of how large it was, and she got a lot of paper cuts in the process. That’s a dedicated friend!
Next, we have Emelie Norton, a Junior at Magnet. Her favourite gift was a Guitar from her Mom. It was her favorite because she needed it for Guitar One, and because playing guitar is fun, and it helps calm her down. A gift someone got that Emeilie wants is new CD’s for her car. She says she wants them because she has been listening to the same music for a while. A gift that she is proud of is the custom Stanley’s she got for her brother and her Dad. Emelie and her stepmom both had Stanley’s, and they helped encourage them both to drink more water. So she got her Dad a Stanley with a University of Illinois logo on it because it’s his favorite team. Sounds like everyone in her family is hydrated now.
Then we have Mace Northrup, a Freshman at Magent. His favourite gift he got was Doctor Who DVD’s from his aunt. It was his favourite gift because it’s his favourite show, and it got taken off HBO Max, so now he can watch it again. A gift that someone else that Mace wishes he got was an Onewheel. He says he wanted it because he likes them, and it would be cool to ride. A gift that Mace was proud of was a digital copy of Mistborn that he got for his Mom. He got it for her because she loves reading on her Kindle and is always looking for a new book to read.
Lastly, we have Gray Meers, a Sophomore here at Magnet. His favourite gift he got was a new mouse for his computer from his Mom. It was his favourite because it’s a really nice mouse and he uses it every day. A gift someone else got that he wished he had gotten was an Apple Watch. Gray gave his family an ornament of their dog, which sadly had to be put down when it was younger than 2 years old.
Overall, it sounds like it was a good Christmas for these Magnet students!
