With prom coming up in one week, the first promposals have been submitted, so it is only right for me to do a review of the ones thus far. The page on Instagram is always a highlight of people’s fyp as everyone gets to see the wonderful creativity of the students here at academic magnet high school. Although there is still time to submit your promposal, there are a lot turned in already and we are going to do a deep dive into them.
The most recently submitted post was from Tyler Heckman. He asked his girlfriend after his baseball game and she said yes! It was a solid amount of creativity with the extra poster saying prom along with him saying she was the missing piece.
Chouaib had some nice word play in his poster, “mirror mirror on the wall will you go to prom and have a ball.” This smooth flowing rhyme left Marly with no choice but to say yes, and it is very pleasing to the ears of anyone who saw the post in Instagram. He made a great poster, and the creativity was definitely there.
Sam and Jack did a double promposal at the end of the porter gaud senior night soccer game. They did not miss with the theme as their posters were both soccer related. One said, “Lets kick it at prom!” while the other said, “It is my goal to strike a date with you at prom”. The double ask went great, however, they might lose some points on creativity because there were two other people there asking other girls with the exact same word play on their posters. Nonetheless, it is still a great poster and a phenomenal way to ask.
Daniel Huang went all out by digging the writing into the sand which showed his dedication to the assignment. This came out awesome, and who doesn’t love a good walk on the beach anyways. The addition of flowers makes it all the better as he did his best to impress Caroline.
Matthew Semenoff did a great job asking Mckenna as he brought out the star wars themed poster with the light saber to go with it. If you recall, they went as anakin and Padme for Halloween, so it does a great job of reflecting their shared love for star wars.
Leah Bagg got asked by Ashton who did some phenomenal word play using her last name to “Bagg” a date to prom. This is the type of creativity and word play that makes for a great promposal, and a fun post for the page.
Quin O’Keefe would like to say it was “ts was bubba and tuff” and I would have to agree. He did a great job coordinating all the trucks to work together to spell out prom. Driving up to the spot must have been a pleasant surprise for Amelia. This perfectly fits Quin’s personality, and he is a front runner to win the tickets.
Reed did a great job asking Kate with another “missing piece” promposal, but he did it with a box of legos to go with. Even though it is very similar to another promposal, he had his own flair to it with the lego set showing his dedication and creativity. If you look in the back of the picture you can also see Tyler Perez giving his seal of approval, so there is no bad blood between these two friends.
Justin Mathis had a pawesome promposal as he brought out the dog for this one with the word play of “treat” to go with it. These two are gonna have a blast at prom and his amazing promposal is a great way to kick it off.
Kyler had great creativity as he asked Kat if she wanted to “boogie” at prom while writing it on a boogie board at the beach. This was incredibly creative and with the Os as disco balls, the artistic genius was seen.
George gave Amelie a great promposal that she won’t forget. He included a candle to go with the poster while drawing an amazing candle for the I and two matches crossing each other for the T.
Sam Galloway kept it simple and effective. With the beautiful sunset in the back, Sam was bound to get a yes for the answer. He did a great job of hiding the poster to make it as surprising as possible for Ava. This romantic walk went about as good as possible as he secured a date to prom with a “yay” or a “nay”.
