As we ease into the Raptor routine, our clubs kick off the year with Club Fair, and the race to rally up students begins. From Ski Club to Beach Sweep Club, there’s a club for everyone. If you love helping those around you, then clubs like the Kits for Kids and the Jump Over the Odds Club are perfect for you. They both aim to help support those in need and brighten their days, whether it’s through making gifts for them or helping raise awareness for their sicknesses.

Other clubs, such as the Filmmaker Club, the Raptor Radio Club, and the Jazz Band, provide a place for our imaginative students to express their creativity. In the Filmmaker club, you can expect to make short art films, possibly be a part of a news outlet, and participate in festivals and competitions. In the Jazz Band, you’ll get to experience playing music in a group and express your emotions through music.

If you want to help the environment and contribute to protecting animals, then clubs like Surfrider and Beach Sweep Club might be for you. Surfrider Club’s mission is to raise awareness for pollution, and like the Beach Sweep Club, they want to clean up plastics from the beaches and marshes.

If you want a more non-committal club, then the Kindness Club, the Coastal Conservation Club & Fishing Club, or Voices for Equality might be for you. With the clubs only meeting once or twice a month, they provide a low-time-consuming club where you can go fishing, as well as beach sweeps, make cards for veterans, make kind signs, or even spread awareness for social injustices.

If you want to be in more of a fun, silly club, then RaptoRecords, Garfield Club, Video Game Club, or ChickFlicks Club is a good fit. These clubs offer fun ways to occupy your time, like watching Garfield, Chick Flick clips, or playing video games at lunch, or attempting to break world records.

If you want something a little more abstract, then you should try Ski Club or AMHS Racing Club. This club brings the sport to people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to do it. They hope to help you learn a new sport and make new friends. In Racing Club, you will race other students in racing simulations and watch racing videos.

If you want to get service hours through food or beverages, then a club like Sugar + Spice Club or Coffee Club is a great choice for you. Coffee Club serves coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to students and faculty. Sugar + Spice bakes treats for bake sales and for teachers, as well as donates to food banks.

If you’re interested in robotics, consider joining clubs like VEX, SeaPerch, or Biotech Club. Both Vex and Sea Perch are performing in robotics competitions, with Sea Perch competing in aquatic competitions. The Biotech Club aims to complete one biotechnology project annually.
