RB:
Jeremiah Love:
This standout running back was one of the best players this past year as he was not only a Heisman candidate but had over 1370 rushing yards last season making him one of, if not, the best running back in this years draft. In the combine, Jeremiah had the second fastest 40 yard dash time with a 4.36 second time. Love is projected to be the 2nd overall pick in the upcoming draft as he is an outstanding player who is 6’0 and weighs 212 pounds.
Mike Washington Jr:
This running back from the University of Arkansas was a major standout in this NFL combine. He stood out due to his outstanding speed as he was the fastest running back in the 40 yard dash with a time of 4.33 seconds. In this past season, Washington rushed for over 1000 yards and had 8 touchdowns for the Razorbacks. Washington is also a receiving back as he had caught for over 200 yards with one receiving touchdown. Mike Washington Jr is 6’1 and weighs 223 pounds making him a very versatile player that people should keep their eyes open for.
QB:
Ty Simpson:
As one of the best quarterbacks from the past season, it is no surprise that this Heisman candidate went off in the combine. Ty Simpson didn’t participate on the testing section but participated in the throwing section where he shined, having only 2 passes that weren’t good. Simpson was especially great in ball placement and throwing power showing exactly why he is one of the best quarterbacks in this upcoming draft. Although he is an older quarterback, he showed exceptional footwork, making people believe he is worth being a first round draft pick.
Garrett Nussmeier:
Garrett Nussmeier, the quarterback for the LSU Tigers this past season, a pre-season Heisman favorite, was another standout at this years combine. Nussmeier measured in at 6’2 and weighed 205 pounds. Although he started off shaky with some questionable throws, Garrett quickly got into his groove where he displayed his high level of accuracy to such a level that according to some sources, it increased his draft stock.
Drew Allar:
Drew Allar is someone people have slept on this year due to the Penn State Nittany Lions terrible season and due to his terrible injury where he fractured his ankle which says it needs 4-5 months of recovery, but he still completed spectacularly in the combine where the 6’5, 228 pound, quarterback showed little to no limitation from his ankle injury as he performed great, besides for some drops from the wide receivers. Similar to Garrett, Drew rose in his draft stock by a good bit making him another target for teams in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Carson Beck:
Carson Beck is a quarterback everyone has seen and everyone knows him as he is practically 30. Beck is known for his solid arm and good accuracy (besides in the National Championship) and his mobility. Beck performed well in the combine, but didn’t stand out as much as the others as he had much more mistakes on the deep balls, just showing that he isn’t as good as he seems, even though he has more experience.
