Dolphins vs. Steelers
This game was nothing short of what was expected. The Dolphins are known to be terrible in the cold and playing in Pittsburgh didn’t help their case. This wasn’t the only issue as the Dolphins have Tua Turntheballova as their quarterback, you may think he is a good quarterback, but he is the league leading quarterback in interceptions and it was so bad that the commentators said that he has less interceptions thrown that he should have, which is just salt on the wound. In the game, Tua threw for over 250 yards with 1 interception and 2 late touchdowns at the end of the game. Aaron Rodgers threw for 224 yards and 2 touchdowns in their victory. This game was very tragic for me personally as my last hope to make the fantasy playoffs was on Darren Waller, the TE for miami, but since Tua sucks, he had 5 points by halftime. Waller, one of the most skilled TE’s in the league clutched up in the second half, scoring 2 touchdowns but ended 5 points short of what I needed, booting me from the playoff spot.
Carolina Panthers vs Saints
The battle of the somehow revived Panthers vs the terrible Saints was a sight to see. The Saints defeated the Panthers yet again as they won 20-17. The Saints Quarterback, Tyler Shough threw for over 270 yards with one touchdown, he also ran for over 30 yards compared to the Panthers Quarterback, Bryce Young who threw for over 160 yards and 1 touchdown, while also running for nearly 50 yards. The Saints were down 17-10 in the beginning of the 4th quarter but they ended up scoring 10 points in those 15 minutes to seal the deal and win. The Panthers, although they had a great season in comparison to prior seasons are doing great until they play the key games which they end up losing, putting their playoff chances up to chance.
Colts vs Seahawks
This was one of the most anticipated games of the week as the return of 44 year old Philip Rivers excited everyone on his return after being out of the league since the 2020 playoffs. Phillip actually played well as he threw for 120 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Sam Darnold on the other hand threw for over 270 yards but didn’t throw a touchdown or an interception. The Seahawks kicked 6 field goals for all of their points while the Colts had a touchdown. Cam Newton commented on the return of Phillip Rivers by crashing out and saying that he never retired, why should they take someone in his mid 40’s out of retirement instead of taking him? Although Cam is valid in this comment, I would honestly take Phillip Rivers over him as Cam was known for his elite athleticism but now that he is in his mid to late 30’s he wont be as good as he once was. Phillip on the other hand was not known for his athleticism but for his arm strength and his reliability. Overall, the decision to take Phillip Rivers out of retirement has yet to be a good or bad choice and it is still unknown if it will be a benefit or a poison to the team.
