Over the past week the million dollar question was asked in our newspaper class. Would you rather… be given the ability to fly for two hours each day at the speed of a commercial airplane OR be able to spawn in any food of your choice with the restrictions being you cannot sell the food or solve world hunger with it. Considering this is such a pressing question I decided to take it to the rest of the student body to get their thoughts as well.
Jaidon Daley: Personally I would choose flight. So many opportunities can become available considering I could bring people with me. I could go on quick vacations as often as I want seeing many parts of the world as long as I strategically use my 2 hours a day. Furthermore, for all the people choosing food such as Jack, I could take the food and fly away. I would also enjoy being able to thrive in athletics as I would instantly set the high jump world record and could probably go pro in many different sports.
Bennett Bair: He was going back and forth but eventually landed on food. He said he could save a lot of money. He would get a lot of top tier steak, broccoli, and churros. He can’t get enough of all the Chicken Salad Chick sandwiches he could order, especially the fancy nancy. His recent love for Chicken Salad Chick stems from his girlfriend, Charley, who he would be able to get a lot of food with. He moaned at the thought of being capable to spawn in Ruby’s Bagels at any given moment saying this place has recently been like a second home to him. As far as hoemcooked meals he would love the ability to eat his mom’s spaghetti with cole slaw whenever he likes. Despite the odd sound of that, I one time had to try it and can confirm it is not as bad as it sounds.
Caitlin Farr: She concurred with Bennett and would prefer the food choice. Her reasoning would be that she would love to have food ready for her family everynight without the time to cook and clean up. She said it would be very cool to fly, and would help her avoid a lot of travel time in daily life, however, the time and money she would save with food outweighed the benefits of flying.
Jack Tierney: Jack chose food and when asked why he said, “I like the way it tastes” demonstrating his nonchalant aura people know him for around the school. Quippy remarks like this are a Tierney staple that everyone has come to love him for.
Blake Yarborough: Finally, someone who agreed with me. Blake chose flight because he would be able to become a special teams hall of fame FIELD GOAL BLOCKER. This would be a dream come true playing for his favorite NFL team, the Falcons. He could fly to coastal places where it is always warm. Dodging the harsh winters by going above and below the equator as he pleases.
Sam Abney: Another vote for spawn in food. He would choose really expensive foods, particularly oysters. Indulging in Michelin star bites for every meal at no cost would be a fantasy for Sam. The first food he would spawn in is a really really nice steak particularly from Hall’s Chophouse which I cannot argue with. All this logic for food is starting to sway my opinion, however, flight is still the superior choice in my opinion.
Molly Tombs: Once again we see another vote for food. Specifically she said she would love it because she could save money. Furthermore, she admitted to not being a great cook which makes this option even more appealing. She prefers baking so with the time she spends not cooking she could bake phenomenal desserts to coincide with her food of choice that she spawns in.
Sophia Easterbrook: These two are two peas in a pod so it is not surprising that they chose the same options. Molly was overheard saying she can not even cook the packets of rice, which quite frankly is a little disappointing, but all her problems would be solved if she could have any food whenever wherever.
Charlie Claus: He chose flight thankfully. He believes all the food they are spawning in he could instead steal delicious food while also being able to fly which seems like a win win to me. He would just fly around to flex on people with his ability showing off his aura. Those who know Charlie also know he is a surfer, so the ability to scout out waves from the air would let him shred even harder.
Mrs. Akery: Another foodie. She said it was a no brainer as she would be able to get hersekf Korean food, sushi, and apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Three of her favorite comfort foods at any time would be the obvious choice for her.
Zuriel: Zuriel said food without hesitation. He is always looking out for others and said with the ability to spawn in food he could give it to another person every day. Even if it is not eradicating world hunger, the ability to help individuals would be meaningful to him.
Isaac Tejeda: He said flying would be cool, but he would also be worried about the government attempting to stop and possibly arrest him. This makes food the easy choice in his eyes to remain under the radar.
Chloe Huang: Chloe chose food with a pretty simple explanation, she just likes food.
Riley Shelly: Riley later changed his answer to flight, however, initially he said he would be eating gourmet food at lunch while everyone else eats their basic school lunch. His lambchops and steak would be perfect for flexing to his friends at lunch. “Flying would be fun but it isn’t that practical, realistically would be too much to fly for two hours as he does not mind driving there anyways”.
Hank Houseal: Flight because if you think about it you can already fly super fast to wherever you would get food, even though you would have to pay for it you would save gas money to then spend on food, and “flying is awesome”.
Ben Hynes: He feels the food option is useless since you cannot make a business or solve world hunger with it. He would find a way to monetize his flying ability, so he could go anywhere and be able to pay for food wherever he flys.
