67: The Sport
Why did 67 become the most popular meme in 2025? To be honest, we have no clue, but we would like to recreate a sport that captures the true essence of 67.
Everyone knows the classic six-seven hand motion: full of action, addictive, and unique. Star-striking qualities, we feel that our sport needs to have the same. So, our interpretation of the 67 sport would need to be a huge combination of multiple sports that will cultivate chaos and excitement, similar to the phenomenon of 67.
Charlie’s Sport:
I think a combination of tennis, baseball, golf, hockey, and curling would create an awesome synergy that would surely make a thrilling sport. The premise is simple: try to finish the round with a time that is the closest to 67 seconds against your competitors.
Now, this may be very tricky and unlike any other game played before, but it will be pretty similar to a relay race: you will get a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
First things first, there are two teams, both of which have 6 or 7 players. The teams are not coming into direct contact; however, they can heckle and torment their opposition–in ways such as trash talk– as much as they please. Heckling is very encouraged as it spices up the event.
Teams go in rounds, so let’s say Team Edmund starts against Team Bearmon. Team Edmund would start and try to complete their round in exactly 167 seconds. Let’s set the scene:
The teams meet at a random field x hockey rink. They flip a coin to decide who will be the first team to run the course. There is a designated tennis pitcher, catcher driver, a wedge player, a putter, and 2 curling players. Both teams will need to coordinate an unbiased umpire to referee the game. The tennis pitcher hits a tennis serve (at least 90 miles an hour) and aims for a baseball strike zone. The umpire must determine the speed and assure that it hit the strike zone. The catcher takes the tennis ball and exchanges it for a golf ball. They then hit a drive over a body of water that is 267 yards away, landing in the fairway. Next, the wedge player comes in to hit the golf ball at least 67 yards into a hockey rink. A teammate on ice skates will then use a hockey stick to putt the ball into the hole. The curling team will make the final stretch by curling a stone into the “house,” better understood as the bullseye of curling. Once this is completed and the stone stops moving, the team has finished their round.

Now, this may seem impossible in 167 seconds, but the most important part of the game has not been mentioned: the Birdie Rule. If a team, in the field section (including tennis, baseball, and golf) of their round, makes a birdie by completing the golf rounds in 3 shots, they can add or subtract 10 seconds to their time. This can give them the opportunity to win by being the team closest to 167 seconds.
Winning is simple, every round won (for being closest to the time of 167) gets the team one point, and the winner is determined over a best of nine series.
While this may appear to be chaotic and dank, it would be a spectacle of fierce competition and great entertainment, something that fans of all sports could know and enjoy.
Reed’s Sport:
As a 67 hater, creating a sport that truly captures the chaos of the meme will be difficult, but it is definitely not impossible. To build the perfect 67 sport, I decided to combine three very different activities: Jousting, Basketball, and the mythical Quidditch from Harry Potter.
JOUSTING ELEMENTS
Each team has three massive bikes, and each bike carries three players at once, making nine players per team. These bikes are built with six wheels, which serve as the horse equivalent from jousting.
Every bike has:
Driver who controls and steers the bike
Dribbler who dribbles and protects the ball
Knocker who uses a jousting pole to knock opponents off their bikes
The jousting poles measure 6 feet 7 inches, which fits the theme perfectly. Knockers can use these poles to knock the ball free or physically knock enemy dribblers off their bikes.
BASKETBALL ELEMENTS
There is one ball in play at all times, and it is roughly the size of a size 7 basketball. The dribblers dribble the ball while riding, which blends bike control with basketball movement.
QUIDDITCH ELEMENTS
Like Quidditch, 67 Ball has three scoring goals. These goals are basically basketball hoops without backboards.
They include:
Two side hoops that are 6 feet high and worth 6 points each
One center hoop that is 7 feet high and worth 7 points
The final Quidditch influence is the Snitch. In this sport it is represented by a small drone that quietly whispers “67” as it flies around. Any player on the court can catch it. Once it is caught, it ends the game and gives the catching team 67 points.
Conclusion
67 Ball sounds chaotic at first, but the rules are simple once you see it in action. Three giant six wheeled bikes, jousting poles that are 6 feet 7 inches long, size 7 basketball dribbling, 6 point and 7 point hoops, and a whispering drone worth 67 points all combine into a sport that is ridiculous, intense, and surprisingly fun to imagine. In my personal opinion, I think that 67 Ball could go global. With the influence that the meme has, who knows what type of athletes would jump ship to join in on the new craze. It would be great to see a bike on the court with Lewis Hamilton as the Driver, LeBron as the Dribbler/Shooter, and Wembanyama as the Knocker, but it might take 67 million dollars to get them to play. Which game would you play? Whichever you choose, it’ll surely be a fun time!
