South Carolina Gamecocks Vs. No.3 Texas A&M
This game in one word would be called a tragedy… South Carolina was up 30-3 at half time when it came crumbling down. South Carolina, led by Lanorris Sellers dominated the first half of the game as they started the game with a drive leading to a field goal making the game 3-0. Texas A&M quickly responded with a field goal of their own, tying the game. The Gamecocks then went down and threw a 50 yard touchdown from Lanorris to Vandrevious Jacobs making the game 10-3. Marcel Reed, the QB for Texas A&M got pressured by Dylan Stewart and attempted to throw it away, but he threw it backwards making it a fumble, it was recovered by a Defensive Lineman who ran it in for a touchdown, making the game 17-3. South Carolina, with the help of Marcel Reed throwing an interception, got another field goal making it 20-3. South Carolina got the ball back when Lanorris threw the ball to Nyck Harbor, who ran a curl route, and if you know Nyck Harbor, you know he has 99 speed. Nyck ran around one dude and outran another 3 defenders for an 80 yard touchdown. That’s not the only part of the story as when he was grabbing his hamstring after scoring, he ran up the ramp, where he was then shoulder checked by a police officer who started trying to press Nyck. The police officer was later “relieved of his duties” during halftime. Marcel Reed then threw another interception leading to the Gamecocks being able to kick a last second field goal going into half time, making the score 30-3. This is where things went downhill because coming out of halftime, the Gamecocks were startled when Marcel Reed threw a 27 yard touchdown to open the half. This made the score 30-10, not bad, right??? The Gamecocks were forced to punt when the Aggies retaliated with ANOTHER touchdown, a 39 yard missile to make the score 30-17. Of course, the Gamecocks punted again, letting the Aggies score AGAIN making it 30-24. In the fourth quarter, the Aggies yet again scored making it 31-30 to seal the deal. The most heartbreaking part of the story is that the Gamecocks had a last minute drive on the way when Lanorris made a crucial mistake, not throwing the ball away and letting himself get sacked leading to the Gamecocks tragic loss.
Oklahoma vs. Alabama
These powerhouse schools faced off in one of their best games of the season. Alabama, led by Ty Simpson, threw for over 325 yards with 1 touchdown to 1 interception. Oklahoma didn’t play well against Alabama, offense wise, as John Mateer didnt throw for many yards and he didn’t throw for any touchdowns. Oklahoma’s only offensive touchdown was a rushing TD from Mateer. Bama gifted the Sooners a 10-0 lead as the Sooners started the game with a field goal then a pick six. Honestly, the MVP in this game might’ve been the Sooners kicker as he kicked for 3 field goals, also known as more than what their offense scored. This game ended 23-21 with a Sooners victory, though it may seemed to be undeserved, it still proves that Oklahoma is a team not to mess with.
