With the NFL and College Football season now underway, it is time to start looking for next year’s NFL stars. Because the NFL draft order is based off of standings and is ever changing, this mock draft will be based on the standings on the CBS Sports Mock Draft predicted order
1. New Orleans Saints: Garrett Nussmeier QB LSU
With the Saints in desperate need of a QB, there is no better option than Garrett Nussmeier, the in-state QB from LSU. LSU has proven to be a QB factory recently with them producing incredible talents like Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrow, so Nussmeier could be next in line.
2. Cleveland Browns: Spencer Fano OT Utah
Utah arguably has the best O-Line in college football this year, and coincidentally the Browns might have the worst. With young QB talent Shedeur Sanders finding success behind an awful O-Line at Colorado, it would be interesting to see the success he could have if the Browns built a top O-Line.
3. New York Jets: Drew Allar QB Penn State
Drew Allar is personally one of my favorite QB’s in the draft this year, and I think he could be a great grab for the Jets. The Jets certainly have the pieces to contend, but they unfortunately continue to have weak QB play, with misses on Zach Wilson and Sam Darnold, I think Allar could turn the franchise around.
4. New York Giants: Caleb Downs S Ohio State
Arguably the best DB in this year’s draft, going to a team that desperately needs some defensive help. With the Giants slowly gaining traction offensively with Malik Nabers being a top WR and young rookie Cam Skattebo looking solid, it looks like they could have a very dominant offense in the future and a defensive addition like Downs could help the defensive secondary get on the offense’s level.
5. Tennessee Titans: Peter Woods DL Clemson
While Clemson has under performed this year, that doesn’t mean that they don’t have some incredible pieces defensively. Woods seems to be the top D-Linemen in this years draft and him going to a team with little talent defensively could allow him to be the star of the show early.
6. Carolina Panthers: TJ Parker EDGE Clemson
Another Clemson defender, TJ Parker is widely regarded as one of the top edge rushers in college football this year. He’s been very vocal and confident about himself the past couple of years, which could help him progress, and the intangibles are there for him to be a top edge rusher in the NFL. Heres an example quote from Parker “They can have their opinion. We’re gonna handle all that on August 30…(TJ Parker)” Clemson lost this game BTW.
7. Las Vegas Raiders: Jermod McCoy CB Tennessee
This class is very talented at the DB spot(CB/S) with guys like previously mentioned Caleb Downs, and soon to be mentioned Avieon Terrell. While I do think Downs is better than McCoy, I have McCoy ranked higher than Terrell. While he hasn’t played this year due to injury, his resume from previous seasons still shows his abilities are better than Terrell’s.
8. Miami Dolphins: Avieon Terrell CB Clemson
Younger brother of AJ Terrell, Avieon looks to help a struggling Dolphins defense return to its former glory. Avieon Terrell, continues to play a huge role in the Clemson Secondary and seems to be one of the leaders of the defense. Entering this 2025 season through 27 games(19 starts) Terrell has 3 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles along with a sack, which is remarkable for a corner through only 19 starts.
9. New England Patriots: Jordyn Tyson WR Arizona State
While this year seems to be a weak class at the WR position, Tyson seems to be kind of slipping through the cracks of many NFL fans. After a standout year at Arizona State, Tyson could become the featured target of an improving Drake Maye. With Maye’s current WR1 this year appearing to be Kayshon Boutte, Tyson would for sure be an upgrade.
10. Indianapolis Colts: LaNorris Sellers QB South Carolina
While LaNorris hasn’t quite lived up to the hype that he received after last year, he still has unlimited potential. Some of the reasons for the struggles Sellers as well as South Carolina are currently facing could be from the lack of a competent O-Line, which Indy has completely the opposite. If Sellers got drafted to the Colts it would be great to see him behind a stable line.
11. Los Angeles Rams: Fernando Mendoza QB Indiana
Maybe the biggest unknown in the draft, some people are very high on Mendoza but personally I don’t see all the hype, however he has been great so far. Also having a weapon like Nacua to throw to as a rookie would be amazing for a great passer like Mendoza.
12. Cleveland Browns: Reuben Bain JR EDGE Miami
Bain has been great this year and if the Browns draft Bain and pair him with their main defensive star in Myles Garrett, he could be a dominant Robin like player. Bain already has 1.5 sacks, 1 int, 1 pass deflection, and 1 forced fumble this year through 3 games, showing his wide range of skill sets. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bain ends up being the top defensive player in this class.
13. Pittsburgh Steelers: Arch Manning QB Texas
To say he was over-hyped would be correct. With the amount of hype that Arch received at the start of the year, you would think he would be the consensus number 1 pick. Even though Manning has been disappointing, it’s still a risk I see the Steelers taking, he has his flashes of greatness, but he definitely still needs some work. The recent QB’s the Steelers have drafted are Will Howard, Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph, and Josh Dobbs so we might see Manning end up like these guys (we haven’t seen Will Howard yet tho).
14. Dallas Cowboys: Keldric Faulk EDGE Auburn
After trading away Micah Parsons, the Cowboys are in a desperate need of some new defensive talent. At 6’6 and 298, Faulk should be an instant starter in the league as he already fits the edge rusher frame. He’s been dominant in the SEC against very skilled O-Lines so I think he could have an instant impact for whatever team drafts him.
