Analysis:
The rankings for the ranked teams 1-10 I believe are quite accurate for the games that have been played. But I do not agree with No. 11 Oklahoma at being ranked that high as their quarterback is good BUT he is a professional stat-padder. Last year, John Mateer played a ton of schools that are basically just high-school level teams which enabled him to not only get crazy numbers and stats, and it also led him to become a Heisman candidate. Although he has played great this season too, the lack of actual great teams they have played so far is leading to this high ranking, definitely going to drop in the later weeks. Mateer is a great quarterback, that much is true, but with the lack of rushing the ball, it is clear they focus solely on passing leading to his incredible stats. Also I do not agree with the No. 12 Iowa State as they literally haven’t played anyone good and have just beat up 4 bad teams to get them into the top 12. Although I hate No. 13 Ole Miss, their skill is undeniable as they were a great team last year, but with the departure of many star players, this season is questionable at best. No. 14 Alabama on the other hand is just living off of the Legacy of Saban and will continue their suffering this season, but will probably finish the season ranked as they do have a good team just bad coaching. For the No. 15 Tennessee, I personally believe they are ranked too low as they are a great team that lost by only a small margin against Georgia. As for the No. 16 Utah, I have no words as they are just a random team they just threw in there. No. 17 Texas Tech is a team that is severely underrated, even though they are not a contender for the championship, they are still a good team that is under looked. As for No. 18 and beyond, these Rankings are purely random and do not have any significant meaning and aren’t a threat in the future.
Although this is the week 3 rankings and the week 4 rankings just released, I believe these rankings signify the real skill level in the league as there is little to no pity rankings here.
Contrary to this, these are the week 4 rankings that due contain pity:
