If you are active on social media platforms nowadays, you have probably heard of the infamous Jeremy Fragrance. Jeremy Fragrance is a German content creator and businessman. He gained his fame by posting videos online about fragrances, colognes, and perfumes. He frequently refers to himself as the “NUMBER 1 FRAGRANCE ICON,” walking around in public, smelling people, and inquiring about their fragrance. After having been fans of his for a while, we decided that we needed to bring some of his charm to AMHS. Although we cannot nonconsensually smell people at school like he does, we can ask students about their signature scent. We began our research by sniffing each other and commenting on our own fragrances.
#1 REPLICA Beach Walk – Maison Margiela (Eau de Toilette): Sousa Waggoner wears this scent daily, as she thinks it is very versatile. In fact, she likes it so much that she has re-bought this perfume several times. She discovered this scent near the end of sophomore year when she finally decided to level up from Sol De Janeiro Cheirosa ‘62, but still give off a beachy smell. As it turns out, this fragrance does smell of walking down a sandy beach on a summer day. A full-size bottle of this perfume is available for $165, and we definitely recommend it.
#2 Mandorlo di Sicilia Blu Mediterraneo – Acqua Di Parma (Eau de Toilette): Elizabeth Hample has recently started wearing this scent daily after parting from Maison Margiela’s “Coffee Break.” She discovered this scent while shopping in London and came back to purchase it from her favorite sale’s associate, Noah, at Blue Mercury. It has notes of madagascar vanilla, cedarwood, Italian Bergamot, and Italian Orange. A 2.5 Oz bottle of this perfume is $161 but the price of the full size is quite affordable at $278? She has been loving this perfume and we definitely recommend it.
#3 Wander – River Island: Britt Laubinger was caught in the history hallway wearing this scent. When asked how he discovered his fragrance, he replied with: “It discovered me.” This seems to be very accurate as Britt is well known for loving to go in the woods and host and attend bonfires. Also, Britt’s fragrance smelled very musky and manly, as it has a woody base of sandal and oak moss. When we smelled Britt, it was after lunchtime and the scent was still very strong, making this a long-lasting fragrance that is practical for school. It is also Irish. This is available for $20, so its price is a bit steep.
#4 Cologne Spray for Men, Classic Scent – Old Spice: Campbell Stoklosa was stumbled upon as we patrolled the hallway, looking for subjects in 2B. He was unsure of what his fragrance was called, but he knew that it was an Old Spice “spray.” After doing some research, we figured that it was Old Spice’s Cologne Spray for Men in the Classic Scent, priced at $11. Although we are sure that this fragrance probably smells good, we could barely get a whiff of it. So, we figured that this cologne is not very long-lasting, and therefore we do not recommend it above the others mentioned in this article.
#5 Mandorlo di Sicilia Blu Mediterraneo – Acqua Di Parma and No. 17 – 80 Muze: Lily Thompson was a unique sniff due to her combination of two perfumes. The notes of violet, green tea, and leather made for a luscious combination of scents paired with the Acqua Di Parma Eau de Toilette. She found her first fragrance from me (Elizabeth Hample) and the second was a Christmas gift from her mom. When asked about what she likes about this perfume, she smiled, licked her lips, and said: “It has a great atomizer!” No. 17 is $120 for a full sized bottle so paired with Mandorlo di Sicilia it is a pricey combination. With some bias, I rate this a 10/10 combination.
#6 “Y” – Yves Saint Laurent: Lowden Scarlett carpools with our friend Evie Walldorf in the mornings, and we consistently hear about the overpowering smell of his cologne when he enters her car. So, we decided we needed a piece of this action. Lowden’s fragrance is YSL Y, and it smelled very strong at lunchtime despite the afternoon heat and humidity. This is very impressive since he also put it on around 8 am that morning. Overall, this fragrance smelled woody and aromatic, and quite expensive. That makes sense as it is available for $125.
#7 Irresistible – Givenchy: Isla Todd discovered her scent while searching for a new perfume. After buying the tester bottle she decided she would purchase the $95 full sized bottle. Isla says her scent makes her feel “happy and warm.” This scent, described as a “fruity woody floral” definitely gives happy and warm vibes. It lasts all day and we frequently smell Isla as she walks by us in the hallways. We definitely recommend it!
#8 Daisy – Marc Jacobs: Street Wilson found this scent from an old friend. She frequently switches up between Daisy, an unnamed Zara perfume, and Sol De Janeiro Cheirosa ‘62. Her scent features white floral, violet, and woody notes. When asked how she feels about her perfume, Street said she “feels happy knowing she does not smell bad.” If you want a perfume that doesn’t make you smell bad, then Daisy is the one for you!
#9 1 Million Lucky – Paco Rabanne: Jacob Somsky was tracked down post-lunch after one of his friends told us that he wears cologne. We were pleasantly surprised with Jacob’s frag (short for fragrance), as it was still very strong after an 87° lunchtime. We thought it smelled very classy and manly, and it had notes of plum, hazelnut, and cedar. On the internet, this cologne is described as an “eternal fragrance” because of how long it lasts. We would sure hope it was long-lasting, as it sells for a whopping $160.
#10 9PM – Afnan: Judd Waggoner discovered this scent from THE Jeremy Fragrance himself. It has notes of bergamot, lavandin and cinnamon. Judd is very fond of this scent and was proud to let us sniff him. The sweet components of this cologne reflect a young and youthful vibe, perfect for Judd as he is a young boy. This is quite a cheap perfume, seeing as it can be bought on sites such as Amazon or TikTok Shop. Sousa wants to recommend this to Garrison because he mentioned he wanted to smell like cinnamon. If you too want to smell youthful we recommend this affordable cologne.
#11 Redwood Men’s Solid Cologne – Duke Cannon: We found Garrison Gray in the hallway where he came prepared for us to sniff him. Despite his preparation, we weren’t able to smell much. Garrison claims he smells of cinnamon even though his scent contains sandalwood, amber, cloves, citrus, and rosemary, not cinnamon. Duke Cannon claims that this solid “smells like a walk through the Great Northwest, not a high school dance.” Garrison sure is eager to enter manhood! If you would like to smell like a walk through the Great Northwest this is the affordable option for you, priced at $24.99 on Amazon.
#12 : Crème Vanille – Urban Outfitters: Maya O’Leary wears this classic scent daily. Although we couldn’t smell it when she approached us at lunch (12:30 pm), we are familiar with this scent because we have smelled it in Urban Outfitters, and think that it smells quite yummy, having notes of creamy apricot, jasmine petals and brown sugar. Despite its good smell, it does not seem to last throughout the day. This perfume is affordable at the price of $25 so it is a great scent for short term use!
