As the school year begins, there is a whole portion of our school that is starting to realize that these are our last moments here: our last first day of high school, our last first football game, our last Homecoming Spirit week. If only there was a list that detailed everything to do in order to have the perfect senior year…………. Oh, wait.
- CAR DESIGNS: What better way to start off your senior year strong than to announce it to every other car on the road? All you need is some chalk markers and a catchy slogan based on the year you graduate. For the class of 2025, 2ENIOR 5EASON or 25NIORS will do.
- BOOKBAGS/ LUNCHBOXES: As you walk around campus, you may notice various bookbags and lunchboxes that seem out of place. From Spiderman to Scooby-doo, seniors, including myself, are sporting their ages 3 and below gear with pride.
- SENIOR SUNRISE: This annual tradition includes an early morning, Krispy Kreme donuts (thanks to our Senior Class President Oliver Winebrenner), and the beautiful beaches of Charleston. From experience, I would recommend bringing a sign or cutout to take cute pictures with to remember this milestone.
- PAINT PARKING SPOTS: With masterpieces comparable to the great works of Van Gogh and Da Vinci, the painting of parking spots is a treasured tradition that allows seniors to make the school their own. I can not wait to see all the amazing spots after the last available day to paint, September 21.
- SPIRIT WEEK: With our first spirit week of the 24-25 school year coming up next week, seniors are anxious to start buying outfits for each day’s themes. Monday is Drab v Fab, Tuesday is Coachella, Wednesday is Generation Day, Thursday is Wall Day, and Friday is the Homecoming Game.
- SENIOR ASSASSIN: This spirited game of water and pool floaties is a must-do during your senior year. And while the pot of gold at the end of the game is an amazing perk, the real reward is being able to surprise your friends with a nice spray of water bright and early in the morning.
- SENIOR JEANS: Another fun tradition that can often be spotted on social media is senior jeans. An easy DIY to do, all you need is a pair of jeans and some paint. Similar to the car designs, senior jeans are a fun way to show off your final year of high school.
- BUILD-A-BEAR: When creating lasting memories from your senior year, one that you should put on the list is making a graduate build-a-bear. With their cute little caps and adorable gowns, these teddy bears are the perfect addition to any room decor.
- SCRAPBOOK: When we are 30-40 years old, we will look back on senior year and fondly remember all the memories we have created. The best way to preserve this feeling is by scrapbooking it right now. Whether this means sliding pictures into a photo album or busting out all of your different craft supplies, scrapbooking is the perfect way to create timeless memories.
So seniors, as you enter your final year, be mindful of your time and make lasting memories with your friends. HAVE AN AMAZING SENIOR YEAR!!!
