Senior Spotlight Part 9

Meet the Class of 2024

Welcome back to the ninth edition of the Senior Spotlight.

First up, we have Ella Moore.  Ella was born on November 13, 2005, and lives in West Ashley.  She attended Buist Academy before coming to Magnet, and her favorite class is AP Biology with Mrs. Phillips.  Although unsure where she will attend college, she is looking to become a nurse or go into biomedical research.  Ella enjoys food with an alliterative twist: pesto pasta and pecan praline ice cream.  Ella’s favorite memory from high school was going to the Senior Sunrise this past August.  Her favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice.

Next, we have Ava Irwin, a resident of James Island and a graduate of Montessori Community School.  Ava was born on December 23, 2005.  Her favorite food is Christmas cookies, reflective of her birthday being right around the holiday.  She says that her favorite class this year is Marine Science with Ms. Roop, most likely because she is planning to major in marine science in college.  Although she is still figuring out where she wants to go next year, Ava is leaning toward Eckerd College in Florida because of its proximity to water and, thus, marine science opportunities.  Ava’s favorite memories at Magnet will always be, for her, having lunch with friends.  In terms of career plans, Ava plans on becoming a teacher after grad school and loves using the 💛 emoji.

Bellamy Kline was born on July 30, 2006.  She attended Ashley Hall before coming to Academic Magnet and lives with her family between James Island and Folly Beach.  Like Ava, Bellamy’s favorite class is Marine Biology with Ms. Roop.  She is unsure of where she will attend college next year, but she will definitely be majoring in finance on her way to becoming a hedge fund manager.  However, if money wasn’t an issue, Bellamy would be a paparazzi photographer or a pioneer on the prairie.  Bellamy’s favorite foods are “good sushi, chai, and the gluten-free spice cake my boyfriend’s mom makes.”  Bellamy’s favorite memories at Magnet are cheering for the Raptor sports teams (but only when they win).  Her favorite movie is American Beauty and the best emoji, in her opinion, is 😜.

To wrap up, I’ll go last.  I’m Jason Gould and I was born on October 4, 2006.  I used to live in New York, but I moved to Charleston right before starting middle school at Moultrie, near where I live in Mount Pleasant.  My favorite class is Anatomy and Physiology with Mr. McCormick because I’m looking to major in neuroscience in college and go into medicine as a professional career.  I’m not sure where I’ll be going to school next year, but most of us will have to wait and see until regular decision acceptances are released in about two weeks.  My favorite foods are anything my grandma makes, and my favorite memory at Magnet is winning Wall Day two years ago when we were sophomores.  If money wasn’t an issue, I think I would write music or something.  My favorite movie is The Matrix and my favorite emoji is 🤣.

That’s it for today’s issue.  Thank you for reading!
