Katie Sheffield

First up, we have our senior class vice president, Katie Sheffield. Katie was born on August 25th, 2007 and is 17 years old. Her favorite memory at Magnet is the USA football game and she is happiest at the beach during sunrise and sunset. She wants to attend the universities of Georgia, Florida, or Auburn. She has quite a diverse music taste listening to songs from folk music by Mt. Joy to rap by Youngboy Never Broke Again. She dreams of money and happiness and her favorite animal is a wallaby or elephant.

Donovan ‘Hamp’ Hamilton 

Next, we have our ex-class president Donovan ‘Hamp’ Hamilton. He was born on October 5th, 2006 and went to Deer Park Middle School. His favorite memory at Magnet was when his band, Bring the Hype, won the talent show for the second time. He is happiest when he gets to do what he wants, like some of his favorite things including traveling, playing music, and chilling alone. He wants to go to Elon University and his advice to the class of 2026 is to do your application the first two weeks of senior year because it can catch up to you later in the year.

Emily Daniels 

Third, we have Emily Daniels. She was born on July 25th, 2007, and is 17 years old. She went to Orange Grove Charter Middle School and her favorite memories at Magnet consist of all the wall days during spirit week. She is happiest at the beach which has been a common theme among our seniors so far! She dreams of being a renewable energy engineer and improving the electrical grid in the USA because she aspires to bring power to those who need it.

Street Wilson

Next, we have Street Wilson who was born on April 5th, 2007, and is 17 years old as well. She went to Ashley Hall Middle School and her favorite memory so far at Magnet was junior year prom. She is also happiest at the beach during summer and her favorite animal is a dolphin. She wants to go to college at UNC or Boulder and her advice to the class of 2026 is to have fun and not worry about college. Her favorite classes at Magnet were sophomore year chemistry and 11th grade pre-cal. 

Talia Barsness 

Next up we have Talia Barsness who was born on July 3rd, 2007. She went to Cario Middle School and her favorite memory at Magnet is winning Wall Day sophomore year. She is also happiest at the beach specifically during the sunrise or sunset. She wants to go to Duke and her favorite class at Magnet was Honors World History with Mr. Stackhouse. Her advice to the class of 2026 is to get started on college apps early and not rush them at the end. Her favorite animal is a seahorse and she says the soundtrack of her life is back on 74 by Jungle. 

Thomas Hershey 

Another addition to the senior class is Thomas Hershey. He was born June 26th, 2006, and is 18 years old. He went to Charleston Day Middle School and he says that he is the happiest when he is on the water.  The soundtrack of his life is Mhmm by BigXthaPlug. He wants to go to Sewanee – the University of the South and his advice to the class of 2026 is simply just to enjoy your time at Magnet while it lasts because it goes by quicker than you think. His favorite memory in all the time he was at Magnet was beating OCA freshman year in basketball. 

John Thomasson

Next, we have a class favorite, John Thomasson. He went to Moultrie Middle School and was born on November 7th, 2006 and his favorite memory at Magnet was when “JL Silveston got slapped by Jack Troy in Spanish class.” He is happiest when he is on the boat.  The soundtrack of his life is Overseas by Ken Carson and he wants to attend college at the University of South Carolina. His favorite class ever at Magnet was AP CSP and his advice to the class of 2026 is to get money and have fun in their last two years of high school.

Chloe Trowman 

The next one of our seniors in the spotlight is Chloe Trowman who was born on October 2nd, 2006. She went to East Cooper Montessori School and her favorite animal is a golden retriever. She is also the happiest when she is on the boat with her dog Sully and she additionally notes that her favorite kind of dog is a golden retriever. Her advice to the class of 2026 is to make the most of your senior year because it goes by fast. She wants to go to college at UNC with her friend, John Lewis, and her favorite class at magnet is AP environmental science.

Jack Troy

The next senior up is Jack Tory, who was born on November 3rd, 2006, and attended Cario for middle school. He lives in Mt. Pleasant and his favorite magnet memories include eating lunch with his friends. His favorite animal is a shark and that could be part of the reason he says that he is happiest at the beach as well.  He wants to go to college at Arizona State University. His favorite class is Newspaper and his advice to the class of 2026 during their senior year is to have fun and work hard.

JL Silveston

Finally, we have John Silveston who was born on November 27th, 2006. He lives in West Ashley and his favorite memory at Magnet is Spanish class with Jack Troy. His favorite animal is a capybara and he is happiest when making “tts at the local cc”. He dreams about playing golf at the TT and he wants to go to college either at Clemson or USC. His favorite class was Biology and his advice to the class of 2026 is to get money and have fun during your senior year.
