Meet AMHS’s New Guidance Counselors!

As you may know,  two new guidance counselors have arrived at AMHS.  Because most seniors need a college recommendation from their counselor, here are some fun facts about all our counselors so you can get to know them: Ms. Vallejo (A-Hou), Ms. Krupilis (Hs-So), and Ms. Chrysler (Sp-Z)!

 

Here are some fun facts about Ms. Vallejo!

  • Where did you grow up?
      • I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas.
  • Where did you go to college?
      • For undergraduate, I went to the University of South Carolina and for my Masters I went to the Citadel.
  • What is your favorite activity?
      • I love to be outside, going to the beach and spending time on the boat with my  two shih tzus; Luna and Brixx.
  • Who is your favorite musician/band/genre?
      • My music taste is eclectic, and I switch between pop, hip hop, 80’s music, and jazz, depending on my mood.
  • How is magnet different from other schools?
      • The previous school I was at was a middle school, so there are different issues between a middle and high school. Also, the vibe at magnet is very different. 
  • Is there anything you want to tell the student body and what do you want the students to know about you?
      • Remember to be kind to each other, be respectful, and respect differences between others. And I enjoy having students in my office!

Ms. Vallejo is located in room 7235, upstairs at the end of the history hallway.

 

Here are some fun facts about Ms. Krupilis!

  • Where did you grow up?
      • I grew up in Tampa, Florida.
  • Where did you go to college?
      • For college, I went to Florida State and the University of Georgia. 
  • What school did you come from?
      • I came from a large high school in Atlanta.
  • What is your favorite activity to do outside of school?
      • I love to go on walks with my family and my golden doodle, Winston.
  • Who is your favorite musician/band/genre?
      • My favorite musician is Khalid, and I mostly listen to R&B. 
  • Is there anything you want to tell the student body and what do you want the students to know about you?
      • My door is always open to talk!

Ms. Krupilis is in room 7211 A, upstairs, right outside of the senior lounge.

 

Here are some fun facts about Mrs. Chrysler! 

  • Where did you grow up?
      • I grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania (Like from The Office!)
  • Where did you go to college?
      • I went to Western Governors University in Utah. 
  • At what school were you previous to Academic Magnet?
      • I was at Del Sole Academy of Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada. 
  • What is your favorite activity?
      • I enjoy going to the beach.
  • Who is your favorite musician/band/genre?
      • My favorite singer is Chris Stapleton, and I listen to country music.
  • How is magnet different from other schools?
      • Magnet is smaller than the school I had been at previously, and students here are more motivated than other schools. 
  • Is there anything you want to tell the student body and what do you want the students to know about you
      • My door is always open, I’m a great listener, and I have a great sense of humor! 

Ms. Chrysler is in room 7211 B, between Ms. Vallejo and Ms. Krupilis’ rooms. 

All of our counselors want you to know that they always have their doors open and want to talk to new students during lunch, study hall, and before and after school!
