My Top 3 Favorite Nickelodeon Shows

My top 3 favorite Nickelodeon shows of all time.

The greatest kids channel.

I grew up watching hours and hours of Nickelodeon, and I know other kids have to and I wanted to share my top 3 favorite shows from that channel.

1: Spongebob Squarepants

Without question, one of the most beloved kids shows of all time. I loved this show and even though I had seen every episode, I would always tune in because the show itself was entertaining no matter how many times you watch it. The animation style is truly unique and the fact that a lot of the characters such as Sandy the squirrel could not exist in reality makes this program really interesting to watch. It speaks to the success of this show and its popularity that they are still making new episodes today since its creation in 1999. Its amazing that this show has been running for 20 years straight, and that it still remains relevant in popular culture (meme culture) today.

2: Avatar: The Last Airbender

This may not have been the most popular show, but honestly this one rivals Spongebob for me and I nearly put it at my number one. The reason why I love this show so much is the incredible and dramatic storyline that it has and also the crazy fictional universe that the creators of this show made. The plot begins with an innocent preteen that is suddenly thrown into a war against the powerful Fire Nation and is expected to save the world because he is the “Avatar.” My favorite genre of movies/tv shows is coming of age, and this is one of the most entertaining coming of age stories I’ve ever seen, because the main character overcomes the most impossible odds.

Avatar is just freaking cool.

3: Drake & Josh

The only show not animated on this list, Drake & Josh was one of those shows that I related to real life more than I probably should have. I watched it before I was a teenager, and this show made me think that this was what being a teenager actually is like. However, this was not the case at all I came to realize. For whatever reason, I couldn’t comprehend the concept of a show being scripted, so I guess I just thought of it as a documentary of those two kids’ lives. It also over exaggerated high school stereotypes, such as nerds and cool kids, but that’s what made this show entertaining I think. Overall, although it isn’t like real life at all, that’s what made it so entertaining.

Whether you agree with my list or not, I think we can both agree that Nickelodeon is a great network that had plenty of entertaining shows to go around for all kinds of people to enjoy.
