Pop Tarts March Madness Tournament

Sealed in pairs within a Mylar wrapping, the rectangular, pre-baked, Pop Tarts were introduced by Kellogg in 1964. These snacks have been enjoyed by people since they were created, and can be consumed as they come or warmed up in a toaster or microwave.

In honor of their most popular product, Kellogg’s is gearing up for the most hectic time of the year: Pop Tarts March Madness. The flavorful toaster pastries are going head to head to see who comes out on top. Will it be the immensely popular Strawberry? Or will the underdog Maple Bacon take this year’s title? Continue reading to see the results.

After the first round, we already have one upset. Brown Sugar Cinnamon? Out in the first round? Sure, it was up against some tough competition, but it is widely considered to be one of the all time greatest flavors. It is safe to say the Talon staff was quite stupefied.

Round 2:

Wild Berry vs Hot Fudge Sundae – Hot Fudge Sundae

Chocolate Fudge vs. Blueberry – Chocolate Fudge

Cookies n’ Cream vs. Strawberry – Strawberry

Chocolate Strawberry vs. S’mores – S’mores

After the elite eight of this year’s Pop Tart Madness, there were some very great match-ups with some surprises moving on to the semi-finals.  Fan favorite blueberry lost in the head to head against chocolate fudge.  It seems as if magnet students are very keen on chocolate flavors which could lead us to some very exciting games in round three.  Moving on we have Hot Fudge Sundae, Chocolate Fudge, Strawberry and S’mores.

Round 3:

Hot Fudge Sundae vs. Chocolate Fudge – Chocolate Fudge

Strawberry vs. S’mores – S’mores

WHAT. Strawberry? Not in the finals? The Kentucky Wildcats of Pop Tarts didn’t go all the way? Nope. S’mores balled hard and got the W by a 60:40 margin. The repulsive Chocolate Fudge also pulled out a similar margin win against Hot Fudge Sundae. The Big Game will be Chocolate Fudge vs. S’mores.

Finals:
