As sad as it may be, this is our final installment of meeting this year’s senior class. Over the last four years, the class of 2023 has had many questionable but endearing moments, and in this final issue we discuss the best part of being a senior, hidden talents, and favorite magnet memories.

 

Jagger Smoak

Current favorite song: “Around Me” by Metro Boomin & Don Toliver.

Hidden talent: I can name any flag of any country.

Favorite Magnet memory: Homecoming football games.

Best part about being a senior: Early outs.

3 things to take to a deserted island: Phone, speaker, and an axe.

 

Sophia Taber

Current favorite song: “Sun to Me” by Zach Bryan.

Hidden talent: Fluent in the sign language alphabet.

Favorite Magnet memory: Mr. Rush’s study hall.

Best part about being a senior: Senior night and early outs.

3 things to take to a deserted island: My hydroflask, my cherry balm dotcom, and vanilla ice cream.

 

Maya Thompson

Current favorite song: “Oklahoma Smokeshow” by Zach Bryan.

Hidden talent: I have a black belt in karate.

Favorite Magnet memory: Freshman year wall day pep rally.

Best part about being a senior: Early outs and senior sunrise.

3 things to take to a deserted island: My phone, a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel, and chapstick.

Hidden talent: Elite Food Critic.

Favorite Magnet memory: Second Pep Rally Freshmen Year: Sam the foreign exchange student rapping to the whole school.

Best part about being a senior: The teachers definitely are more relaxed with us.

3 things to take to a deserted island: Guitar, My North Face Slippers, and Takis.

Current favorite song: “Love.” by Kid Cudi.

Hidden talent: I am like really good at Geoguessr.

Favorite Magnet memory: My first wall day as a freshman because the seniors were so intense and had so much spirit and were chanting in the key and it was terrifying.

Best part about being a senior: I love not having to worry about my grades anymore and think about traveling and getting away from SC.

3 things to take to a deserted island: A book, a bed, a way to watch family guy.

 

Avery Voelkel

Current favorite song: “Illicit Affairs” by Taylor Swift.

Hidden talent: Skipping class.

Favorite Magnet memory: Conjoined freshman lunch table.

Best part about being a senior: Early outs.

3 things to take to a deserted island: Bathing suit, tanning oil, and a yacht.

 

Amber Ward

Current favorite song: “Heart Attack” by Scarlxrd.

Hidden talent: I am freakishly good at guessing the plot in movies.

Favorite Magnet memory: Semi last year.

Best part about being a senior: The early outs and the fact that teachers don’t really care what you do that much anymore since they all know we have senioritis.

3 things to take to a deserted island: I would take water, a camera, and a private jet so I could just fly home when I wanted.

Hidden talent: I’m really good at eyeliner.

Favorite Magnet memory: The World Quest trip to DC.

Best part about being a senior: The snacks in the senior lounge and early outs for sure.

Hidden talent: Cooking/baking.

Favorite Magnet memory: 2022 Ap picnic.

Best part about being a senior: Having 2 stories for wall day.

3 things to take to a deserted island: 1. Long-range walkie talkie 2. Sailboat 3. Foraging guide.

 

Moyu Yamagachi

Current favorite song: “Symphony” by Clean Bandit feat. Zara Larsson.

Hidden talent: I can wiggle my ears.

Favorite Magnet memory: Sticking a skeleton on Mr. Rush’s classroom ceiling. I think it’s still there (maybe): around three steps in front of the Promethean board.

Best part about being a senior: AP Lit with Ms. Lankford!!

3 things to take to a deserted island: Water, a fishing pole, and bait.

Hidden talent: I can identify almost every Taylor Swift song within the first second of listening to it.

Favorite Magnet memory: Going to football games + jr. class trip!

Best part about being a senior: Early outs.
