Girls’ Soccer Wins Third Consecutive Championship!

Raptors Beat Christ Church 4-0

Girls’ Soccer Celebrates their 3-Peat

Congratulations to the girls’ varsity soccer team who won their third consecutive championship and their fourth in five years! They beat Christ Church 4-0 last Friday in a game that was dominated by the Raptors. Many faithful fans took on the two-hour drive to cheer their team to victory, decorating their bodies with Raptor colored paint and chanting, “I believe that we will win!”

When the first whistle sounded to signal the start of the game, the Raptors wasted no time, scoring in the fifth minute with a header from Marin Miller, assisted by Jesse Dooley’s corner kick. Raptor fans did not have to wait much longer to cheer again because Maddy Carens scored one of her two goals in the tenth minute on a 15-yard blast that whizzed past the hands of the goalie.

The Raptors walked into halftime with a 2-0 lead, calming the stress of the fans and giving them sight of a championship. This vision became more of a reality with a score by Alexis Polcyn in the 67th minute to improve the lead to three goals. Six minutes later, Maddy Carens scored her second goal of the game to make the score 4-0 in favor of AMHS.

When the final whistle sounded, a storm of Raptor soccer players rushed onto the field, smiling from ear to ear, waiting for the moment they would receive their medals and the trophy.

Although nine seniors are leaving the team, Ms. Merriman knows that her team will be up for the challenge of a 4-peat next year.

Congratulations to the Girls’ Soccer Team!
