Class of 2022 Senior Parking Spots!
Including tips for painting your own parking spot!
Tips for painting parking spots:
- Bring a leaf blower! You will need to clean off your spot before you paint it, and using a broom takes way too long.
- Don’t try to make your design too specific, bigger designs usually look better.
- Pair up with someone! Even if you’re not doing coordinating spots, it goes a lot quicker when you’re with a close friend. My friend and I rotated between whose spot we worked on, and that made it a lot more fun!
- Bring something to open your paint cans with: everyone will need one, but everyone forgets to bring one.
- Bring a tarp to lay down in the trunk of your car, you do NOT want paint stuck in your car.
- You only need about one and a half gallons of paint for the base.
- Use chalk to outline your design!
- Make stencils if your design lends itself to it, pasteboard or cardboard works best.
- Bring a trash bag to put your wet brushes in.
- You will not be able to do your whole design in one day, expect it to take two or three sessions.
- Just have fun and do a design that makes you happy!
