Tips for painting parking spots:
Bring a leaf blower! You will need to clean off your spot before you paint it, and using a broom takes way too long.
Don’t try to make your design too specific, bigger designs usually look better.
Pair up with someone! Even if you’re not doing coordinating spots, it goes a lot quicker when you’re with a close friend. My friend and I rotated between whose spot we worked on, and that made it a lot more fun!
Bring something to open your paint cans with: everyone will need one, but everyone forgets to bring one.
Bring a tarp to lay down in the trunk of your car, you do NOT want paint stuck in your car.
You only need about one and a half gallons of paint for the base.
Use chalk to outline your design!
Make stencils if your design lends itself to it, pasteboard or cardboard works best.
Bring a trash bag to put your wet brushes in.
You will not be able to do your whole design in one day, expect it to take two or three sessions.
Just have fun and do a design that makes you happy!
