The Ultimate Summer 2020 Playlist

Grouplove, Rico Nasty, the Rolling Stones, and more.

Serene summer morning vibes.

For us, summer is more than a season; it’s an emotion. Before we leave Magnet, we feel it’s our duty to bring you the ultimate summer 2020 playlist with music spanning from the 1950s to 2010s that covers all genres we could think of to get you feeling the summer mood. Therefore, below we’ve listed our top ten favorite songs and our Spotify playlist, which we have linked at the end of the article. Enjoy!

Our Top Ten

  1. Tongue Tied by Grouplove. This is my favorite song to scream at the top of my lungs with my friends. Ultimate teenager and summer vibes. It will forever make me nostalgic.
  2. Natural Disaster by Zac Brown Band. This song is the perfect mix of folk and country and reminds me of growing up in south Georgia. The quintessential representation of my childhood.
  3. Island in the Sun by Weezer. This song makes me feel like I am driving down East Arctic Avenue on Folly in late July. Also, Emma Roberts sang this in Aquamarine.
  4. No Role Modelz by J. Cole. There are no rules during the summer. I don’t need any role modelz–pretty self-explanatory.
  5. Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison. When I think of summer I think of my grandpa singing this on a porch, dock, or boat somewhere. It’s youthful, fun, and always makes me smile.
  6. Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. This song radiates major baddie energy; Gaga and Beyoncé are too busy partying it up on the dance floor to worry about the haters. Normally I get bored of songs, but I’ve been listening to this one for a decade.
  7. Yellow by Aminé. This song makes me think of driving around aimlessly with my friends on a summer night. One of the best summer activities.
  8. Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Let’s be honest, they rocked our middle school world. I still think I’m cool to this day for knowing all the words of the rap.
  9. Floats My Boat by Aer. This song really makes me feel like a teenager. When I listen to it I am immediately compelled to break rules and have a carefree summer.
  10. Breakfast in America by Supertramp. I love this song for the background music even more than the actual singing. It gives off the good type of chaos that symbolizes summertime.
