After the move up into the new AAA region, the Raptors have enjoyed their new level of competition thus far. They play at a new stadium called Shipyard Park (in the picture) which features an all turf field and stadium seating. Despite dropping the first region series to Hanahan, the Raptors have gone 4-1 since beating Bishop England once, Georgetown once, and Waccamaw twice.

Senior leaders Luke, Ethan, and Stephen were asked a few questions about the season.

What are the biggest strengths of the team this year?

Luke Freudenheim- We’re pretty strong defensively, especially in the infield. Our dugout is consistently loud and is great for rallies.

Ethan Fewell- We can create momentum when we need to.

Stephen Holderness- Coming back after an early deficit

Where does the team need the most improvement?

Luke Freudenheim- We need more extra base hits and home runs.

Ethan Fewell- Scratching runs across and pushing some in in tough situations

Stephen Holderness- Creating a bigger cushion for pitchers in close games

Favorite part about the team?

Luke Freudenheim- I love how close we all are, we’re like brothers. Most of us have known each other since we were 9 years old so there is a lot of chemistry.

Ethan Fewell- Having fun at practice

Stephen Holderness- Strong bond of the seniors

Favorite traditions?

Luke Freudenheim- Pickup basketball before games.

Ethan Fewell- Pregame Bo’Jangles and Taco Bell and Monster drinks

Stephen Holderness- The bell we ring after doubles
