IshowSpeed is one of the most popular streamers of our generation. Blowing up in 2020 for his videos speaking to Talking Ben, Speed has become a phenomenon among younger viewers. Speed’s continued success compared to other streamers can be explained by two qualities: his larger mainstream appeal and his clips. Speed has gained popularity among viewers who don’t frequent livestreams via his appearances in advertisements and interviews, but the quality that really propelled him to fame was his energetic live-stream clips. Speed is known for his expressive reactions and facial expressions, and many clips of him showing his expressiveness have skyrocketed his popularity and have been translated into GIF form. In this article, I will list the 5 IShowSpeed GIFs that are my personal favorites.

5 – Unimpressed

This GIF is a video of IShowSpeed reacting to someone telling him that they are a zionist at a convention. Since Speed is openly anti-zionist, he makes an almost disgusted face and then scrolls on his phone, uninterested in furthering the conversation. This GIF is fifth on my list because I think it’s one of the most versatile GIFS. You can use it whenever someone says something that you disagree with, and it’s always hilarious.

4 – Amazed

This is a video of Speed at the Ballindor Awards for soccer. Speed is an avid soccer fan and he loves his favorite player, Ronaldo, very much. Speed went to the award show solely to support his GOAT, Ronaldo, and this video is from when the winner was announced. Ronaldo did not win, and the disappointment on Speed’s face said it all. This is fourth on my list because I think the reaction being so over the top makes it a lot funnier. Whenever something is shocking to me, I can use this GIF and it will express just how disappointed I am in what happened.

3 – Shocked

This is a video from one of Speed’s gaming streams. He was playing Five Nights at Freddy’s: Pizzaria SImulator, and Molten Freddy had just Jumpscared him. He seemingly loses his mind after this jumpscare, and reverts back to primal functions. There’s many things that are funny about this video to me. For one: his headphones fall off his head, probably by accident, but the process messes up his hair, making the act even more convincing. The red background also accentuates the hair change, since his hair is black, you can’t really see his hair until the background turns red, making the hair more noticable. I also think his headphones kind of blend in before the jumpscare as well which just adds to the affect. I also think it’s sort of impressive how fast he was able to cross his eyes like that, I know if I tried I wouldn’t be able to do that. This GIF is also very versatile, because you can use it for two different purposes. You can use it to react to something that you thought was very scary, implying that when you watched it you reacted like Speed did, or you can use it to react to something that you thought was stupid, implying that the poster was in an altered state when writing what they wrote. This is only third in my list though, simply because the next two GIFs are that good.

2 – Nodding

This video is from Speed’s “Early Stream,” which is famously rated a 10/10 on IMDB. The stream consists of a Fortnite competition that speed ran with his fans for a $20 Fortnite gift card. This clip happened when Speed was listening to someone explaining why they needed the win before the game started. What’s funny about this video is the amount of emotion that the viewer had when explaining why they needed the money. Speed is clearly trying to understand the viewer’s position, but he’s having trouble keeping a straight face, because he realizes that 20 dollars probably won’t do very much. This GIF is great because it is a great reaction when agreeing with someone. However, it is mostly used when you are trying to hear someone out in a very strange position. However, this is not the best GIF from speed, and it’s not even the best GIF from that stream.

1 – Trying Not to Laugh

This is a video from the same “Early Stream” as before. This is after the competition had happened, and the viewer who was begging for a chance lost. He started repeatedly screaming, “PLEASE SPEED, I NEED THIS!” which Speed clearly thought was funny. The viewer then said the Iconic line, “My mom is kind of homeless,” which made Speed make the first face shown in the GIF. Speed was clearly trying to hold in his laughter, since it would be very disrespectful to laugh in a fan’s face, but the situation was so funny that he needed to make a special face to try not to laugh. After some continued begging, the viewer who won the competition said to Speed, “Speed, I’m watching your stream right now. Why are you trying not to laugh? That’s disrespectful as s***.” This comment made Speed need to hold in his laugh even more, which caused him to change to this closed-eye smiling position. This clip is by far the most successful meme that revolved around Speed, and he even recently recreated the clip with the exact same viewer, who thankfully stated that his long is “no longer kind of homeless.” This GIF is by far the most versatile, since you can simply use it to react to anything you find funny. You can also use it to express trying not to laugh at something, which is its primary use. It would simply be disrespectful to place this GIF anywhere other than first place.
