Fauxcountry News

A fresh new newspaper has taken the Internet by storm with satirical views of happenings in the Lowcountry. Many articles have circulated over Facebook, causing some tension in the comments section. The most controversial article thus far has been, Porter-Gaud Students Take Field Trip to Discover What the Middle Class Is. Porter-Gaud parents and students have sounded off in the comments. Some think it is hilarious, while others have been highly offended by the article. Megan Holmea, mother of four Porter-Gaud students, contributed her two cents, “I work hard to pay my sons’ tuition, in fact, started my own company to do so and part every day that my sons will always have the safe arms of the Porter Gaud villagers wrapped around them.” In reply to the angry commenters, Ken keeps his response short and to the point adding, “The next article should be about how Charlestonians don’t understand satire.” Although some articles like this one have ruffled the feathers of some, most articles only create laughs as they poke fun of Charleston and the surrounding areas. As the website has gained attention, many people have wondered who is behind this hilarious website, but their identity remains unknown.
