Chili is a yummy meal that is best when it’s from your mom’s crock pot. It is a meal in itself and needs little else to make it one of the best winter meals. Just pair it with some bread, lots of sour cream, and cheese. The recipe is super simple: you just throw it in the slow cooker and leave it all day for the best results. Everyone’s version is different, but here is one recipe that anyone can make!

Recipe:

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (16 oz) chili beans
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

  1. In a skillet, brown the beef and onion over medium heat; drain fat
  2. In a large slow cooker, combine the beef and onion with all other ingredients.
  3. Cook on low setting for 6-8 hours.
