Greece Trip 2016!

Yassou! This spring break, Dr. Altman and Mr. McCormick took almost thirty students from Magnet to Athens and the Greek islands for a week of fun! After a long day of traveling, they arrived at their first hotel in Athens for a relaxing dinner and a night walk along the water. In Athens, they climbed up the acropolis to check out the Parthenon and enjoy a beautiful view of Athens from its highest point. The next morning, they boarded the Celestyal Cruise to begin their adventures on the islands! They spent their first day exploring Mykonos and its beautiful white buildings, windmills, and “Little Venice.” For the next four days, the cruise took them to Samos, Patmos, Crete, Rhodes, and Santorini, where they participated in wine tastings, tours of monasteries and museums, and relaxing naps on the beaches. At the end of the week, they returned to Athens and drove to the Oracle of Delphi for a rich historical experience. On the last day, the students enjoyed shopping and eating in the market in Athens and observing the changing of the guards. To end the trip with a bang, the students and chaperones spent their night watching and participating in traditional Greek dancing, singing, and even smashing plates!
