Things You Didn’t Know About the AMHS Baseball Team
Baseball is back and better than ever. Returning seniors, Connor Woods, Josh Isaacks, Reaves Wannamaker, Kyle Davis, and Zach Zuber, lead the team with breakout senior star Ben Redden joining the starting lineup.
Here are ten facts you may not know about the Raptor baseball team:
- Before games, they always warm up to “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.
- The team’s favorite food is pizza.
- Senior Connor Woods is back and better than ever after tearing his labrum in his left shoulder last year.
- The Talon‘s own Ben Auten is the announcer for the games.
- Many of the players have interesting walk-up songs, like #22 Beckham Watkins’ song “22” by Taylor Swift, and “Conga” for Kyle Davis.
- Senior Ben Cottingham is the loudest cheerleader on the team.
- There are two freshmen starters: infielder Max Windom and catcher Ethan Fewell.
- The Raptors have beaten 4A school Colleton County this season, contributing to their record of 6-1 in the regular season so far.
- Their home field is Collins Park at 4155 Fellowship Road in North Charleston.
- Next week, the Raptors face off against region rivals Bishop England on Monday and Battery Creek on Wednesday at home.
