Sometimes we take the things we use in our daily lives for granted. Here are a few things the world wouldn’t have if not for black inventors:
1. Ironing board
Our clothes would always be wrinkled without the item patented by Sarah Boone.
2. Super soaker
Lonnie G. Johnson made summers a lot more fun with this invention.
3. Refrigerator
Thanks to John Standard, we can all keep our leftovers.
4. Traffic lights

Garrett Morgan patented both of these things.

We can thank George Crum for this one.
7. Peanut butter
George Washington Carver created this delicious snack.
8. Pacemaker
Otis Boykin is responsible for saving hearts all over the world.

Without Philip B. Downing’s invention, there’d be no way to keep your mail safe.
10. Elevator doors
Alexander Miles kept us all from falling out of elevators.
