Senior Night Looms Close

Friday, January 29, marks the last Friday home game, and also senior night. Varsity girls have seven seniors, Emily Aysee, Caroline Black, Rachel Biggs, Ariel Dornisch, Erica Hoskins, Lauren Medich, Emily McGee, and the boys have five, Jakob Cumins, Danny Cunningham, Ben Redden, Keb Mosley-Kellum, and Eduardo Da Costa, making the 6:30 and 8:00 varsity games one of the largest senior night celebrations in recent Magnet history. The whole week leading up to the game is spirit week, perfectly setting the stage for a massively large crowd to help honor our seniors. The past two years have featured fantastic ComingHome and Senior Night crowds, and this year the two are grouped together, creating the perfect storm for perhaps the largest crowd Magnet has ever seen on senior night. The senior players and their teammates all need the Bird Cage present and louder than ever as they take on the North Charleston Cougars in a crucial AA region match-up.

The presentations for the senior Raptors will take place in between the girl’s and boy’s games as our seniors will formally end their final Friday home game with gifts, plaques, and cheers from the Bird Cage. Seniors, players, and coaches have requested that the crowd shows for both games, starting at 6:30 and staying till the end of the boys. The theme is sure to be one to match the spirit and festivity of the game, but the crowd must be there on January 29 on a cold, bitter night, as all of Raptors look to defeat North Charleston on an emotional and action-packed night of Raptor basketball.
