Welcome to part 2, there has been a recent surge of commitments for the class of 2025, so I thought it was time The Talon told the Raptor Community where more beloved seniors are jetting off to come August!
Elizabeth Hample will be bleeding orange next year at none other than Syracuse University. She is majoring in public relations and tells me, “I want to work in PR or advertising when I’m older, likely with an entertainment company or PR/AD agency.” How cool and perfect, I am so excited to see your future play out. Elizabeth shares that she decided on Syracuse when she learned about Newhouse, which is their Public Communications school. After she toured she switched her application from RD to ED II because she knew that’s where she wanted to be. She is looking forward to meeting so many new people and having new adventures.
Chloe Trowman is a Georgia Bulldog, heck yes! We all know that Chloe will be living it up in Athens. I personally am very proud of this commitment and get teary eyed thinking about having to be separated from Chloe #bestfriends. She is majoring in Political Science because she has always been interested in politics and wants to be a part of the federal government. She plans on going to law school and becoming a politician when she is older. She is especially looking forward to the many concerts in Athens and hopes that Megan Moroney will play at the world-famous Athens theatre at one point over the next 4 years.
Katie Sheffield is en route to Tiger Town where she will be cheering loudly at every football game! She is majoring in biological sciences to stay on the medical track because she wants to be a pediatric PA when she is older. Katie says that she is most excited to rush and go to the lake. Katie has even picked a roommate and met her, how fun!
Garrison Gray is a gamecock! This has been a lifelong dream of his so he is very excited. He is majoring in Gender Studies. He is very interested in the subject and wants to further his understanding so he can maybe become a professor later in life. Garrison plans on enjoying his time in COLA by joining a frat and getting a job at a local restaurant.
You will be able to catch Sophia Benich in Knoxville next year! Talon is so happy for this future Vol. She is majoring in biological sciences because she is interested in medicine and wants to be a family doctor. Sophia plans on attending many sporting events next and is especially excited about football games at Neyland. She also loves country music so she wants to take trips to Nashville for concerts.
Grace Griffin is a Tar Heel! Woohoo. She is majoring in political science and has a lot of different career ideas and hopes to use her time at Chapel Hill to find a job that she is very passionate about. Grace will be a part of the Honors program and Talon is very proud of her. She says “I have always loved Chapel Hill, so I knew if I got in I had to go”. Grace is excited to “meet so many new people and have new adventures”. I mean after all what is not to love about baby blue and UNC basketball?
Moving on to Grace’s and my new rivals.
Our senior class has not 1 but 3 blue devils. Jack Oakman, Joseph Gaddy and Mark Sereda are heading to Durham. Joseph is majoring in Biophysics and he might go to medical school after, but is still exploring his options. He applied early because he loved the school school culture and knew the education would be excellent for his specific major. He looks forward to the basketball game in Cameron Stadium and is preparing to camp out to be able to get student tickets. Although I am personally confident in the Tar Heels’ come back next season, everyone is very excited for Joseph’s future.
Aiden Ball is a Clemson Tiger. He is very excited for the town of Clemson, the lake and the fantastic school spirit. Aiden plans to major in Business, specifically marketing. Although Aiden is not sure of his path after college, we know that he will not fail to leave his mark on whatever career he selects. Aiden tells me that he chose this college because “A lot of my family attended Clemson, and I like the campus. I also received Palmetto Fellows and an academic scholarship, so it is also an affordable option.” CONGRATS AIDEN, we can’t wait to see you BALL out.
Lila Garret will be attending the Naval Academy. Lila plans to major in chemistry so that she can complete all of the pre-med classes to have the option to go to medical school after college or her service commitment. She would love to be a surgeon one day in the medical corps, but before then, she will either be an officer in the Marine Corps or Navy. Lila decided on the Naval Academy because she “wants a challenge and would love to serve and travel, which is a guarantee after the Naval Academy.” There is no early decision, but it is rolling admissions, so she submitted everything back in September. She is most excited about Army-Navy week and the intense school spirit. Lila, this is insanely impressive. Congrats and Beat Army!!
As a community, Academic Magnet should be nothing but proud of us seniors and ecstatic for the many opportunities to come for each and every one of us. Make sure to follow “amhsdecisions” on Instagram along with the rest of the 2025 class’s commitments.
