Today we take a deep dive into the mind of the astute freshman Logan Jordan. Coming from Camp Road Middle School, Logan knew a few familiar faces when he arrived at Magnet in the fall, including his friend Judd Waggoner from Islanders lacrosse. Logan has continued his lacrosse career at Magnet, where he plays defense on the JV team. Despite knowing a few people, adjusting to high school life has still been a challenge, but one he has taken in stride.
When it comes to academics, Logan’s favorite subject is Human Geography. He enjoys the class and says that it is very interesting. He says his favorite teacher is Mrs. Roop. While I never had Mrs. Roop, I have heard nothing but good things about her. How she teaches and makes the lesson engaging has left a positive impact on his learning.
Outside the classroom, Logan briefly was a part of Key Club but ended up quitting. He said he didn’t receive much information about the club and because of this he decided to stop doing it. I commend you Logan, on trying something new even if it did not work out. This was Logan’s first time joining a service club like Key Club, making his brief stint there a new experience. My advice to Logan would be to not let this year stop you from keeping up with Key Club. It is an extremely valuable club and looks great on college resumes.
When it comes to entertainment, Logan says he really enjoys action-packed books the most. If a book doesn’t hook him from the beginning, he’s not interested. Logan does not have a favorite movie. I respect that answer, because I too do not have a favorite movie. In terms of music, Logan prefers to listen to rock. He says it is his favorite genre of music. I think Logan has a very good taste in music, because rock is my favorite genre as well.
Weekends for Logan mostly involve playing video games, which he enjoys. He would like to spend more time with friends on the weekends, but since he doesn’t have a car quite yet, he says it’s difficult to get together with friends outside of school. Despite this, he makes the most of his free time doing what he loves.
Logan says his favorite food is pizza. While this may be a basic answer, it does not mean it is a wrong one. Pizza is one of the best foods of all time. You can’t go wrong with a classic cheese or pepperoni pizza.
As Logan continues his high school journey, he is adjusting to the academic rigor of Magnet, which has proven to be as challenging as he expected. With time, he may explore new clubs, sports, or activities that better suit his interests. For now, he’s taking things one step at a time, finding enjoyment in his favorite classes, music, and hobbies. High school is a time of growth and new experiences, and Logan Jordan is just getting started. I expect big things from him in the future.
