What are AMHS students doing over the winter break?

With winter break right around the corner, many AMHS students have made exciting plans for what they intend to do over the long break that consists of doing family activities, going on vacation or just relaxing at their house and enjoying the long break. This article is based on just what a few students have planned for the break so far, but hopefully it can give you some inspiration on things to do if you are not sure how you want to spend your time over the long break. 

• Fritz Browning

When Fritz Browning was asked about his plans over the upcoming break, he did not know originally what he was going to do at first, but then he came to realize that he would actually be going on a family vacation during the break. However, when he got back in town he said he was going to sit back and relax at his house while watching some of his favorite Christmas movies like Home Alone. Fritz said the moment he was looking forward to most over break was opening his presents on Christmas morning and spending valuable time with family and friends. 

• John Thomassson 

When John Thomasson was asked about what he was doing over the upcoming break, he said that he was going skiing in North Carolina with family and friends. The specific place he is going is called Beach Mountain and it is well known amongst North Carolinians for its difficult and steep slopes. John stays at a cabin where he keeps all of his ski gear and plans to come back home for Christmas to celebrate with his family. The thing he enjoys most about Christmas is the cold weather and Christmas movies. John additionally notes that he likes a nice cool glass of eggnog when he is watching his favorite Christmas movies for the full experience.

• Joey Schady 

When Joey Schady was asked about his plans for the upcoming break, he said that he’s looking forward to spending time with his friends on a road trip to go ski in the mountains of Breckenridge Colorado. Joey loves the city of Breckenridge and says that it’s his favorite spot for hiking and outdoor activities. Joey plans to relax with his family during the holiday season, and he’s especially looking forward to celebrating Christmas at home. He also mentioned that he loves baking with his family, which include festive food and drinks all the way from hot chocolate to building gingerbread houses.

While this article only explains what a select few Academic Magnet High School students are doing over the upcoming two week winter break, it can give anyone reading this inspiration on different ideas and things to do if they ever find themselves bored during spring break. However, a nice and relaxing two week stay at home while being cozy and warm watching Christmas movies may just be what Academic Magnet students need right after this stressful midterm period is over with.
