With the weather getting colder, everyone’s favorite time of year is fast approaching…. Winter Break!! Every year it seems like everyone forgets everything they wanted to ask for all year: here is some inspiration for your 2024 holiday wish list. Find out what AMHS students are asking for this holiday season by scrolling down below!!
First, there are a lot of students that had one big item on their wish list – money. Although it seems like a basic request, it can be essential for teenagers in order to be able to do fun things with their friends. Shopping, going out to eat, and so many other things are made possible with just a little bit of money. If you’re thinking about giving someone money for Christmas, a fun way to spice it up is giving a gift card! That way you can personalize it and make it more special to the person you’re giving it to. One AMHS student specifically requested V-Bucks as well, which is a great example of how to branch out and give special gifts this holiday season!
The most requested item on students’ Christmas list was technology! Students had items ranging from screen protectors all the way up to a new MacBook. Students also mentioned asking for a new smartwatch to prepare for the upcoming phone ban that will be coming to the school next semester. Airpods were popular on the list as well. Some other good ideas were Kindles, iPads, a new Xbox, and a computer monitor. Amazon is a great place to get all of your technology needs as well as, The Apple Store, and Best Buy! Whether you want new technology for practical uses such as “to take to college,” or want it for more creative purposes like “online coloring books and watching tik tok on a big screen,” it is always a great pick!
Clothing is always a staple item on Christmas lists, although taste does evolve as you get older. From Lebron James taco Tuesday t-shirts to Talk-Tuah hoodies to swim dresses, the AMHS community certainly has some interesting requests. However, some of them were a little bit more expected: nightgowns, new running shoes for cross country, and jerseys (Paraguay, Ipswich Town, England Away, etc). In addition to the requests of our school community, we have some other clothing recommendations. For girls, Free People, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Princess Polly, Reformation, and Lululemon are all great stores to check out. For men, Patagonia, North Face, Palmetto Moon, Dicks Sporting Goods, and more. Beyond just shopping online and at stores in a typical way, there are also great options for renting new clothing each month. Nuuly, Rent the Runway, and other platforms have become super popular for their ability to get new pieces each month, and a subscription there is a great idea for a gift for a fashion loving student! Furthermore, fuzzy socks were also a great ask from an AMHS student, and can be great for stocking stuffer options.
Makeup and skincare also proved to be a popular request this year, but not as much as some may have expected. To the AMHS student that said they would appreciate the new Rhode pocket blush, I would say it is definitely a good thing to put on your list from personal experience, and would recommend it to any other member of the student body as well. Skincare and haircare can sometimes seem like boring presents, but Christmas is a great time to be able to invest in yourself and your body. As far as haircare, anything from blow dry brushes to hair conditioning masks to a curling iron to hair oil, there are endless possibilities for both guys and girls to explore this holiday season. Students also asked for perfumes (specifically the Glossier-You perfume), and this can be a fun new addition to your morning routine as well. Speaking of which, if you’re interested in adding to your routine but don’t know where to start, try some of these popular internet finds: Ilia Beauty Mascara, Charlotte Tilbury Airbrushed Setting Spray, Merit Bronzing Stick, Elf Halo Glow, Supergoop Tinted Sunscreen, and so so much more!!!
