The Greatest Day of the Year

Nate LeRoy, Staff Writer

The greatest day of the year is often a highly disputed subject, people siding with their own birthdays, Christmas, or the Fourth of July. But people always seem to forget about a new tradition in College Basketball, the 24 hour TV marathon that helps to tip off the season in epic fashion. This year, the games begin with a high ranked women’s game, with the reigning champions, Connecticut, taking on the Lady Buckeyes of Ohio State, followed by 6th ranked men’s team taking on George Washington in our nation’s capitol. The games continue all the way through midnight tonight, capping off with the Champions Classic in Chicago. The long-awaited game between Duke and Kentucky tips off tonight at 7:30, placing two of the nation’s top five teams together in a historical non-conference game that holds crucial importance for the rest of the season. Georgetown and Maryland renew their rivalry at 9:00 tonight, followed by Michigan State and Kansas playing at 10:00. The full schedule is listed below, so prepare yourself for a day and night full of dunks, drama, and the wonderful feeling of not having to leave the couch to experience all the world has to offer. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonders of College Basketball.
