If you’re not familiar, Dancing With the Stars is a reality television show where famous people or celebrities are paired up with pro dancers. Many of the pros stay for multiple years, but the superstars change every season to new and exciting people to keep it interesting. Every week, each pair performs a choreographed dance that they practice the week before and are scored by a panel of four judges out of ten. Each judge’s score is then added together to form a total score out of forty. Additionally, viewers can interact and vote for their favorites online, giving them more votes to stay on the show. The judges’ scores are combined with the points from the viewers, and the duo with the lowest score is eliminated that week. This process continues week by week with the pairs performing different styles of dance every time until finally they reach a winner of the Mirrorball trophy!!!!!
P.S: You can watch it on Hulu, Disney+, FuboTV, Sling TV, and YouTube TV!!
1.Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong:
Chandler is an American actress and singer best known for her roles in Z-O-M-B-I-E-S and Pretty Little Liars, and her partner Brandon has not yet won a mirrorball, but they might break that streak this season. They have performed a jive, an Argentine tango, a Cha-Cha-Cha, and a rumba. My fans are very impressed with Chandler’s rapid rise in dancing skill, and there is a lot of speculation that they will definitely secure a spot in the final.
2.Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold:
Pommel horse specialist and two time Olympic champion Stephen was paired with Rylee, the show’s youngest pro ever at age nineteen. However, her lack of age does not equate to lack of talent. These two bring a smile to your face to watch and are both so cheerful in what they do. So far, they have performed a jive, paso doble, quickstep, and foxtrot. They have accumulated a large fan base who’s rooting for them to win, which would be Rylee’s first mirrorball!!
Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson:
Joey is the star of the most recent season of the Bachelor, a dating reality television show that produces a lot of attention with younger viewers, and his pro partner this year is Jenna, a latin ballroom dancer who has won one mirrorball. Their first four performances were a Cha-Cha-Cha, a rumba, a jive, and a tango. These dances bring such energy to them and even though Jenna isn’t my favorite of all the pros, Joey is really putting in a lot of work and his steps are so clean. I think they unquestionably have what it takes for this season’s mirrorball.
Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten:
Ilona is an American rugby player who has attended two Olympic games very recently, and is paired with professional dancer Alan who has one mirrorball trophy. These two are genuinely so fun to watch, both of them bring a lot of fun onto the dance floor, and I would say they are definitely fan favorites of this season. Ilona had a minor breakdown last week but I will say I have total faith in a complete comeback next week. Having performed a cha-cha-cha, a salsa, a foxtrot, and a jive, these two are on the road to success!!
Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach:
Dwight is a center for the Los Angeles Lakers and Daniella is not only a dancer herself but married to another pro dancer on the show (Pasha Pashkov). This pairing is kind of crazy, with Dwight at 6’10” and Daniella at 5’11” (nearly a whole foot shorter), but they manage to make it work. They aren’t nearly as captivating to watch as some of the other couples because they move a little bit slower, but the height difference makes the pair funny to watch because of some of the tricks Daniella choreographed to accommodate it.
Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber:
Jenn is best known for her recent role in the newest season of the Bachelorette, and her pro partner Sasha, the longest standing pro in the series. Both loved by their fan bases, this is a very popular match. As of now, they have performed a cha-cha-cha, tango, vietnamese waltz, paso doble, and foxtrot. Jenn has improved tremendously and it is a lot of fun to watch the pair dance and move across the stage. They have a fun balance of tricks complemented with complex dance steps, and I think they are definitely competition for the end.
Danny Amendola and Witney Carson:
Danny is a Former NFL wide receiver primarily for the New England Patriots and a few other teams and his pro partner is Witney Carson, who is very well known for her awesome choreography. So far they have performed a tango, a jive, a foxtrot, and a paso doble. Typically the pair dances very dramatically, with a lot of flourish and intensity. I will say Witney does carry them a little bit because Danny is a little stiff, however it is only week four and they definitely have a lot of potential.
Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko:
Brooks is a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, who when paired with star Russian-American dancer Gelb, created a powerful dancing duo and rumors of a possible romance. They have a lot of social media attention around them as fans speculate a potential romantic relationship, but although the two of them have personal chemistry, I don’t feel any chemistry with the audience or her dancing. That said, they have danced a tango, quickstep, rumba, and a cha-cha-cha so far and we will see where week 5 takes them.
Phaedra Parks and Val Chmerkovskiy:
Phaedra Parks is an author and star on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and her partner Val, a Ukrainian-American professional dancer. So far they have performed a cha-cha-cha, foxtrot, quickstep, paso doble, and rumba. Unfortunately I do not know Phaedra and so I am not as big a fan of hers, but I will say the pair dances with a lot of sass. She just does not bring as much energy as I expect from the star in this duo. Not bad, but not my favorite either.
Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater:
Reginald is an actor best known for his multiple police officer roles, and Emma is an experienced dancer with one mirrorball. Due to Reginald’s older age as compared to the other stars, he was eliminated and placed 10th, but he was really sweet and puts everything he has into his dancing. Having only performed salsa, paso doble, foxtrot, and cha-cha-cha, I am sad to see him go.
Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart:
Eric is an American actor and Britt is a dancer starring on DWTS since season 23. This pair has already been eliminated, placing 11th after performing a cha-cha-cha, a waltz, foxtrot, and paso doble. Their dancing was a little bit stiff, and Britt carried the duo a lot.
Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov:
Tori is an actress starring in Beverly Hills, and Pasha is a well loved latin dancer who is married to Daniella Karagach. Having performed only a foxtrot and a rumba before eventually placing 12th, this pair did not go very far in the competition. As far as performances go it was pretty average and did not bring a ton of energy to the competition.
Anna Delvey and Ezra Sosa:
Anna Delvey is a well known con artist and her appearance on the show caused a LOT of controversy. She pretended to be a Germain heiress and swindled hundreds of thousands of dollars from various establishments, very different from her pro Ezra because he is very kind and tried very hard to get Anna out of her shell. Unfortunately they have already been eliminated, placing thirteenth after performing a quickstep and a Cha-Cha-Cha.
Just to wrap up, I wish the very best to all of this season’s contestants and also petition for an older version of Dancing With the Stars so that older contestants like Reginald have a better chance to succeed!!!
