The most important quality of a student is not their work ethic or academic prowess. It is not their communication skills, or ability to critically think. The most important quality of a student is one’s nonchalant attitude – the ability to be perceived as calm and chill. At AMHS we are excellent students, but we are also the most nonchalant. Here are a few of the best examples:

Freshman

1. Caleb Golden – Caleb Golden is always nonchalant and relaxed, especially in dangerous situations. He is a little bit of a bad boy, if you will. He is extremely chill, but he is mostly known due to his insane amount of aura.
2. Harper Woodlee – Harper Woodlee is one of the most nonchalant people at AMHS, mostly due to her lack of fear and the fact that she can rizz anyone in just 2 minutes! According to her best friends, she is quiet and mysterious which is pretty uncommon for her 6’8″ dread head stature. You can find Harper killing it on the volleyball court, already playing with the Varsity team as a freshman!

Sophomores

1. Ethan Casby – Ethan is a poker legend. He wears cologne and is an absolute stud. When people look him in the eyes, they are instantly mesmerized. What makes it even more impressive is that he is so selfless, helping out the needy whenever he can. You go, Ethan Casby!
2. David “Trig” Northrup –  Holy aura! Trig is just a chill guy who doesn’t care about anything. Just talk to the dude, he is an absolute chiller. He’s the nonchalant final boss, the GOAT as one might put it.
3. Tadhg Rothrock – Tadhg is an underrated pick, but he is the living image of the word nonchalant. He tends to “rizz up shawties” in his free time, which is understandable because look at that jawline. You can find him in the hallways listening to lowkey artists such as Kendrick and R-Kelly.
4. William Warnock –  It’s all in the stride. William Warnock has so much aura that if you look at him, you might be able to see his allusive “phantom dreads.” He is quick on his feet, but never shows anyone that he cares. When Rizzing up the boys, he is quick to the hand on the shoulder “Hey” which is most notable from the “Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse” movie. Overall, quite nonchalant.

Juniors

1. Venessa Zhang – Venessa is one of the most chill people at AMHS, and a self-proclaimed dreadhead. She had by far more votes than anyone in the school, which is why she is number one. However, it was found out that she was openly campaigning and forcing her friends and peers to vote for her. Not cool, Venessa! That is very unlike your nonchalant self!

2. Mason Fisher – Mason is one of those guys where the only way to understand his coolness is to know him. You feel his aura before you even see him. One time, I asked him for the quote of the day, and he said “Chilling like a boss, without a care in the world.” What a GOAT!

3. Isaac Tejada – Isaac is pretty nonchalant. According to him, he “doesn’t know what demure is” and doesn’t care about it too much when people describe him like that. He also thinks, and I quote, that he has “that hunky Floridian smell.” His nice curly fro combined with his short stature puts him at the top of the list.

4. Keon Hutchins – Keon gives off that aura. A very silent soul, Keon is known around the school as the silent killer. He is not only one of the best students but also one of the best athletes at AMHS. He does pretty much whatever he wants but chooses not to because he is that guy. Stay frosty Keon!

Seniors

1. James Benetti – James’s nonchalantness is unmatched at AMHS, honestly worldwide. He is always casually saying “Chilllll Mayne” and kicking the soccer ball with such ease that it appears to the untrained eye that he doesn’t care. Walking by him in the halls, you get blasted, even stunned, by his aura. His natural curly hair and his 6’5 presence puts him on a pedestal unattainable to us mere mortals. He is by far the most nonchalant in the school. 

2. Max Peters- Max Peters (aka The Sophomore Slayer) is an under-the-radar nonchalant dreadhead type of guy. Much different than Benetti, in the hallways you are not awed by his presence. It is more of a turning your head thinking “OMG who is that guy he is so chill” as you walk away type of situation. His baritone voice matched with his grizzly bear demeanor puts him on top of the nonchalant world.

3. Thomas Hershey – Coming in at number three we got Thomas Hershey (T-Hersh). Contrary to popular belief, with his bad-boy macho-man bravado, Hershey is a kind and gentle soul. His energy would be perceived as electric and he gives off danger with a hint of southern charm. You can find him helping out the local communities but he never talks about it; he is so nonchalant and a spitting image of the word aura!

4. Gabby Sun – Gabrielle Sun is a nonchalant being. She carries herself with a mysterious aura, holding a perfect poker face to illustrate how relaxed she always is. It is hard to meet someone more composed and dissociated, especially when absorbed in her mobile device. She raises her 517 virtual dragons very well which is extremely impressive!
