Noticing a chill in the air? Maybe you’ve seen a couple of leaves on the ground on your way to school? Fall officially started on September 22nd this year, and with a new season comes new music to listen to. These are some fall-inspired songs to add to your fall playlist this year!
- Sarah’s Place (feat. Noah Kahan) – Zach Bryan
This collaboration between two great artists, Noah Kahan and Zach Bryan, is a great song with an upbeat sound, while also having a powerful message about seeing people move on to new stages of their lives and being happy for them on their journey.
- There She Goes- The La’s
Released in 1990, this song is the perfect level of nostalgia and is the best song to listen to when you need a little pick me up. This song is a reminder of the early 2000s and creates that fall feel.
- Ode to a Conversation Stuck in Your Throat- Del Water Gap
A more recent song, released in 2021, this song is one that can be listened to in any mood. This song is up to your interpretation if it’s happy or sad, and can be listened to if it’s sunny or a cold rainy day. This is perfect for fall when the weather is so unpredictable.
- Dreams- The Cranberries
The Cranberries, an Irish band that formed in 1989, is the go-to for any and all fall songs. They encapsulate the fall energy better than anyone else I’ve heard. Some of their other songs that you should listen to if you liked this one are, Linger, Sunday, and Ode To My Family.
- Kilby Girl- The Backseat Lovers
The Backseat Lovers, an alternative rock band formed in Utah, released this song back in 2019 and it is another great upbeat fall moment. Some other great songs from them are, Maple Syrup, Pool House, and Olivia.
- Life Goes On- The Sundays
The Sundays are another 90’s rock band, this time from England. They have a similar sound to The Cranberries and have that great nostalgic sound that gives you the feeling of the first day of school all over again. Some other great Sundays’ songs are You’re Not The Only One I Know and Here’s Where The Story Ends.
- The Adults Are Talking- The Strokes
The perfect song for a rainy fall day. This song is from The Strokes, a rock band formed in New York City back in 1998, is a never-skipped one and has been a hit ever since it was released in 2020.
- 1979- The Smashing Pumpkins-
Though The Smashing Pumpkins are still a slightly controversial band from their peak fame in the 90s, there is no denying that they have some of the best songs from this era of music. Even though the band broke up back in 2000, they recently reunited for a final tour and are performing around the United States right now. Some other of their best songs that also reflect the fall spirit are “Mayonnaise” and “Bullet with Butterfly Wings”
- All My Love- Noah Kahan
Basically all of Noah Kahan’s songs have a fall spirit to them, ranging from “Stick Season” or “Northern Attitude” you really can’t go wrong with any of his songs and he is proving to be one of the best new artists.
- Step On Me- The Cardigans
The Cardigans, a Swedish rock band to switch it up, are another classic rock group. Step On Me is another perfect song when you’re feeling nostalgic or are looking to get into that fall feeling.
